Hey guys. I know that the NP8690 and 8760 are very similar. The mains differences are the screen size, laptop size, and 2 HD bays vs 1.

I want to know which laptop has a better screen. I will be going for the FHD (1920x1080) Glare type.

Also, who is the manufacturer for the screens on each laptop? I thought I read somewhere that the NP8690 screen was made by AUO.

Thanks! I jumped ship from the HP Envy 17 after 4 out of 4 shipments with defects.

I tested both a few months ago; I don't remember one being any better or worse than the other.

Both have LED backlighting and very good quality; they stand out to me as having better quality than panels found on mainstream notebooks.

My personal choice between the two would be the NP8760; it's not that much bigger than the NP8690 and nets you the extra hard drive bay. I also like the touchpad buttons better on the NP8760.
