I've noticed that I'm getting alot of static and low recording volume when using the microphone input jack on my Sager NP8760. I've tried numerous microphones, installed the latest Realtek drivers from the Sager website, and tried adjusting the mic boost and volume to no avail. Do others experience this, or is there possibly a hardware defect on my notebook?

Interestingly, the onboard mic doesn't have the crackling noise that I'm experiencing, but it tends to pick up the fan noise too much.
