    NP8760 Blue Screen While Updating Drivers

    While updating my NP8760 ATI 5870M drivers to 11.9 on amd's website I get a blue screen of death. I emailed AMD and got this response:

    Thank you for contacting AMD. For laptops, driver compatibility is largely determined by the laptop manufacture. Depending on how the laptop manufacture integrates the graphic card into their laptop, they can enable/disable/change the way in which the graphic card works. This unfortunately, can cause the drivers provided by AMD to either be incompatible or only work partially. For full driver compatibility, you will need to use the drivers provided by your laptop manufacture as they are the only ones aware of any changes they made. You can try future releases of the AMD drivers, but they are not guaranteed to work on your system.

    I thought you were suppose to be able to update these graphics cards? Now that Battlefield is coming out this is especially true when you need every bit of performance.
