How do you take out the vga card on the NP8760? im curious because i want to replace the TIM on the card with some ICD24 until i have time to find some lift screws so the gpu makes better contact with the heatsink.
Also, how exactly does one "trim" the cage on the 5870?

I noticed the service manual details how to remove the components but does not have a section about removing the GPU.
This youtube clip will give you some idea but I am not 100% certain that they guy was following the correct sequence number of removing the GPU screws. I would appreciate it if some one would confirm the GPU screw removal and install order. I thought it was 4,3,2,1 for removal and then 1,2,3,4 for install but I don't remember now.

thanks for the video LaptopNut. was quite helpful.
now if i could just get an answer to my other question about trimming the cage on the gpu. -
Then it says please follow screw #1-#4 to remove or install the heatsink.
In previous laptop GPU installs the sequence for install and uninstall was different because of the pressure being placed on the GPU when you screwed it i.e the sequence of install was the reverse sequence of the uninstall to avoid unnecessary pressure being placed on the GPU.
Edit: To trim the cage you can just use scissors and you trim it so the GPU lies flat with nothing preventing the heatsink from making good contact. Alternatively, you can just remove the cage altogether and just use the GPU on its own.
