    Hey guys,

I recently purchased a Sager NP9130. I ordered it from XoticPC, which has been a great experience thus far.

With my purchase, I chose the free upgrade for the Primary Drive slot, which is the 500GB 7200RPM 4gb Hybrid. This hard-drive will be shipped to me in the Primary drive bay. I then chose the option for an optical drive caddy to be installed.

What I'm looking to do is use an old SSD that I already have and install it into the Primary HD bay (which is where I believe the only SATA 3 connection is), then place the 500GB HHD in the optical drive caddy (SATA 2). Has anyone had experience with this or know how easy/difficult this will be to switch around? Will I need any special connector for the HHD-to-SATA 2 or any special caddy to hold the SSD in the primary HD bay? I haven't received the laptop yet, but I like to plan ahead and make sure I know what I'm doing.

    Thanks!

    Hi shutyourface,
Congrats on the computer. It will come with everything you need to do this. Once you get the computer you just need to unscrew a couple screws then you can slide out the caddy in the optical drive bay. Put the hard drive in there then the SSD in the primary bay. Secure the HDD and SSD and put it back together. Beyond that you may have to get into the BIOS and tell it to use the SSD as the primary hard drive.
