I've been enjoying my NP9150 for a while now. When I bought it, I skipped a few of the upgrade options in favor of upgrading them myself eventually. I'm currently installing Windows 8.1 to my new 500GB Samsung EVO SSD, replacing the 750gb Seatgate Momentus mechanical drive, so that's taken care of. I have upgraded my office & home routers to AC routers, so upgrading the wireless card would be nice. I'm curious if anyone knows what options I should be looking at?

The Intel AC 7260 is the most popular AC wireless card right now and we really haven't heard much if any issues with it.
If you dont already know you can get to the wireless card by removing the keyboard.

Should I be looking to get the drivers from Intel, Sager/Clevo, or just let Windows Update take care of it?

Graphics are best to get from each vendor so intel and Nvidia.

    Wireless card, not graphics.

Either from Sager or directly from Intel, we've heard people tying either and seeing identical results.

I've upgraded to an Intel Wireless AC 7260 card and I'm using intel drivers from their web page. So far no problem with Windows 8.1.

Going to piggyback on this thread, I currently have an Intel 6300 with all 3 antennas in my laptop. Is there anything special I would need to do for the AC 7260?

Nothing special, although you will lose out on 1 antenna as the AC7260 is a 2x2.

Not unless you get an AC router or need bluetooth.

While you do lose the use of one antenna, each antenna is about 3x faster then N was able to do. So less antenna used is still faster speed.

Would I be able to leave the extra antennae inside the laptop?

It wont hurt at all, the stock wireless cards only use 2 antenna as well. Only a few use 3 so they install that third one just incase you need it, all you have to do is tape it to something.

Thank you so much for this information. I was intending of upgrading my stock wifi in my NP9150 also but I was thinking of how to attach the third antenna if I bought one of those 3x3's. Good to know that there is a newer 2x2 that is more powerful than the 3x3's. :)

I see there are HMW, a HMWG, and saw another one marked as HMWWB varieties. This confuses me. What do all these mean? They are all the same Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 but what do those extra letters mean?

No sure what the extra letters mean.
But for your antenna question, Sager usually come with all three antenna already installed even if you use a 2 antenna card. The third one should be just taped down close to the wireless card so you dont have to install one.
