I was thinking about swapping around the 6970m I have in my Alienware M15x and the 7970m in my 9150. Will I get better performance from the 6970 in my 9150 since I won't have to deal with the under-utilization issues of the 7970? Is it worth it do swap the cards? I know the M15x can use a 7970 without issues.. Thoughts?

considering that the 7970m is approx. 70% faster than a 6970m i dont think it would make sense. sure, the enduro issue sucks but it doesnt take away 70% perf, max of 20% afaik. besides, not perfectly sure about that but i read somewhere that the 6970m wouldnt run properly in the em series anyways (having to do with the embedded controller not properly recognizing the gpus thermal diode and thus preventively shutting down without giving out a video signal)

    cheers

PS: what u CAN do tho is let the 7970m run in the m15x, altho ud have to check and see how much perf. u lose cuz of the weaker cpu ;)

Non enduro cards won't even work on the P150EM, it will be stuck on the iGPU. You won't be even able to install the AMD drivers..
