I ordered an NP9150/7970m combo from LPC Digital with no OS installed because I can purchase a version of win7 for cheaper using my student account. I was just aware of a deal for windows 8 for cheaper using my IEEE/ACM account. Has anybody had any issues with windows 8? I don't want to have to purchase both OS and would like windows 8 since it is cheaper but only if everything is compatible. Don't want to run into more driver issues then there are already.

swapped to win8 lil more than a week ago and concerning drivers there was no issue whatsoever :) id just recommend for you to manually add a start button, i use start8 for that (5 bucks).

    cheers

I'm curious which driver you're using for the 7970m in Win8. I've got the Release Preview version installed, and it has issues with finding a proper driver.

Win 8 is virtually a reskinned version of Win 7. The same drivers should be used on both. I'd definitely add a Start menu as well.

Yep, the RTM driver works pretty good. Windows 7 drivers will work just fine.
