Hey guys, I really need some help!
    Specs: np9150
    GTX680M
    16gb ram
    core i7 3630

Okay, so what's going on is that I've had two BSODs since last night..First what happened was I was play WoW, and during the game, it froze and then a couple seconds later the first BSOD came up...I turned down the graphics thinking it was over heating and I didnt have problems over the next hour that I played. Well about 10 mins ago, I came back into work from making a delivery. I left my laptop in the desk drawer that locks. I came back and the fans were blowing and I opened it up and I had a BSOD right as I opened..I managed to take a cell phone photo:
    BSOD.jpg

This is really worrying me because I had an Alienware years ago that I regret fully..I purchased a Sager because of all the great stability I've heard about. For the last two months or so that I've had it, things have been awesome. All up until last night. I updated my graphics driver through the Nvidia site last night but for some reason I'm not sure if it really registered.
I wasn't playing a game before I left work or anything, just the internet. All I did was close the lid, and came back later to find the BSOD. Can someone please help me fix this ? :( I hate feeling paranoid of BSODs all the time. I'm hoping this is an easy fix. Thanks in advcance!
P.S. I've done absolutely no OCing.

just ran in and it found 3 crash reports. The conclusion just says that it didn't find any third party offending drivers.
Also, the times are not correct..I'm in Central time.

    crash dump analysis.png

As you can see, im using rain meter and a windowsblinds theme..Not sure if that is relevant to the problem, probably not, I looked at the windows reliability monitor and it had some video hardware errors.

edit: text theme was too light to read details. re-uploaded pic.

If it was working fine before the driver update, I'd just roll it back with System Restore if you can.

Well the first BSOD is the reason I updated my driver actually. Makes me wonder if the driver is the problem. I consider myself to be a pretty advanced user. Everyone around here calls me up to fix there stuff. But for some reason notebooks cause me headaches.

right home now, what a day.

    first things first.
when you closed the lid and put it in your drawer it sounds like it didnt go into sleep or hibernation as the fans were still going. small drawer with no ventilation OUCH! not a good idea. what do you have it set too when you close the lid?
that bsod sounds like a serious overheating problem but normally when it hits just over 100c it should auto shut down.

im not sure about them error codes but 2 point towards your operating system. hopefully someone else can advise on them.

when was the last time you cleaned the vents and fans out with compressed air. its a good idea to do this every few months.

download some monitoring software from the same sig below. core temps/nvidia inspector/msi after burner and run them in the background and give us a couple orf readings. one after just brousing and one after 30-60 mins of gaming.

to find out what nvidia drivers you have loaded go to start > control panel > nvidia control panel > bottom left system info and your loaded drivers will be at the top of the list.

heres the latest nvidia beta drivers http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...14-21-drivers-released-15th-march-2013-a.html

but if you only want to use whql then look here > NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search

if it does turn out to be the nvidia driver then it might be worth trying the manual walkthrough in safe mode in the sig below.

    - the drawer is a large drawer and I was gone for 10 minutes..Still not a great idea I know, but I expected it to go into sleep mode. When I close the lid, every other time it goes into sleep.

-I haven't cleaned the vents because it's only been two months..I can do that when I get off work. Never reached anywhere near 100c

    -driver is 314.07

-Not actually sure what whql is.

One thing to note, i have carried it around quite a bit. I put the computer in sleep by closing the lid and then put it away in the bag that xotic provided me. I'm starting to think that's not good. But when it's in sleep , the fans turn off almost instantly and it's never ever come out of the bag hot. And I never put it in the bag while hot..I'm open for any and all information and suggestions.

edit: I checked my windows updates and there were 38 (optional) updates. Keyword, Optional..However, some included .net framework updates and other software stuff..Possibly the culprit? The only thing in "Important" updates was windows malware remover update and IE 10, which I don't use.

314.07 is the latest WHQL release and will have been tested by your supplier.
there has been 2 beta drivers released since then.

WHQL drivers are official release and BETA are not. beta's are still safe but may or may not help much. they may also have some bugs that can affect some lappys but not all.
gaming junkies want as many frames per second as they can get so update to the latest drivers when released.
in the last year nvidia release a new beta driver every time a new high end game is released.
if you load a beta and it doesnt do as good a job as the previous whql then just change back again.

i would just monitor your temps with some of the software in sig below.

Oh okay! Well I just did 38 of those updates regarding .net framework and other misc windows software updates. Hopefully that helps as well. I will be probably go back to WHQL drivers if problems persist. Thanks a lot for the info ^.^ if problems persist, I will let you know.

    Thanks for the link :)
after all the research of done over ntoskrnl, it seems it has to do with boot.ini files...What about the random crash i got in WoW? Could the same file be the culprit? It's hard finding exact problems in windows with the tools they provide. It's always a long list of possibilities.

Real quick before I leave work here in 2 minutes. I just ran crysis on highest settings at 1920x1080 for a test. Only about 15 mins or so but I never went above 50c in temp. Furmark didnt make temps go up very high either ( i didnt run it too long though, i am "working" after all. Seems to be good so far though. Main point is my temps are a lot lower after updating drivers and doing windows updates!

ruddy heck, your lucky. 50c I WISH :)
gpu 72c and cpu and (ouch) top 80c on two cores and mid 90c on the other two for me.

if you really want to test your cpu then try intel extreme tuning which should be pre loaded but if not in sig below. run that for 5 minutes.

Here is where I'm at today. Did furmark again with proper settings. max temp was 82c. That's on full load though. I did the Intel stress test that you mentioned and The cpu test passed as well as the memory test. But when I went down to the graphics test it failed ( I figured out it was because it was testing the Intel HD integrated gpu ) but I don't see why that would have failed..I don't really need the intel hd because I game using the 680m. Kinda strange that it would fail though,

Was the BSOD you got right after WoW the same as the picture you took with your phone in your OP (the power state failure)? WoW is more CPU demanding than GPU by the way. :)

No, the one i got for wow was

    Bugcheck code: 0xC4 (0x91, 0x2, 0xFFFFF80002E1ACC0, 0x0)
    Error: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System

I did tons of windows updates yesterday, hoping that solved the problem. I haven't had anything happen today, but haven't been playing games since I'm at work.

Ah okay. That could have been the driver for the Intel HD graphics then. Keep us posted, and get back to work! :p

    crash dump file: C:\Windows\Minidump\032113-30404-01.dmp
This was probably caused by the following module: ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x75C40)
    Bugcheck code: 0xC4 (0x91, 0x2, 0xFFFFF80002E17CC0, 0x0)
    Error: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION
    file path: C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
    product: Microsoft® Windows® Operating System
    company: Microsoft Corporation
    description: NT Kernel & System
Bug check description: This is the general bug check code for fatal errors found by Driver Verifier.

Does this happen in a certain zone? I remember in WotLK there were some issues with DX in Deepholm that would cause it to crash.

Mulgor. The tauren starting zone. Only level 7 because i don't wanna play out of fear of crashing. My gf is playing right now in the same zone and is having no issues.
