For a $2 difference, just go ahead with the Corsair... you can't go wrong there! :)

But wouldn't the 1.35v be better on battery life if i just so happen to be out and no charger?

Corsairs do not have a heat spreader btw, its a sticker you have to take off.

Looks good... Buy enough to get the amount of RAM you want/need. Dual channel today is as good as a myth and provides no real world benefits or performance gains, as it once did in the old DDR days. :)

No i mean i was told that if i buy 1 card it would be slower than 2 since they are dual channel motherboards inside the p150em also i was worried cause i didnt know if it is compatible with the motherboard. Oh and the reason i wanna buy 8gb sticks instead of 4gb sticks is because that way when i upgrade i wont have to throw anything away just slip 2 more of the same and keep going but i wanna know if 1 will be enough or if i have to buy the pair.

The Clevos have 4 SODIMM primary memory (RAM) slots.

Prasad: by four primary slots you mean it supports dual, triple and quad channel?

Yes, that's the case. It means you can insert upto 4 RAM cards at a time, as long as they're the standard 204-pin DDR3 SODIMM cards.

It has two pairs of dual DDR3 slots for a total of four slots. So you can install four RAM modules (up to 8GB per stick if your OS supports it) and each pair of two modules run together in dual-channel.

It would only make a difference in access/loading time.. Not performance in general.

I've got a P150EM question... Would the 3610QM and whatever motherboard is in the P150EM models support 1866MHz RAM?

Yes it should be able to, the new IVB has the FSB capacity to uphold 1866.

Well Intel's site doesn't have the FSB posted, but the bus/core ratio is 23 and if it runs stock at 2.3GHz... Intel® Core? i7-3610QM Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.30 GHz)

2x1000>1866, so that should work fine, no?

Probably because it's their lowest end model. If you have an extra $160 pretty much every reseller will let you upgrade. I think Mythologic might have it for $50-60 even.

I guess I should rephrase my questions.

Would there be a significant performance hit in putting a single 8GB module versus 2x4GB?

RAM bandwidth/speed wise, is it a bad idea to put 3x8GB?

Significant, I'd be surprised if you found any day-to-day application or game that was affected. for benchmarking you'd do best utilizing dual channel, which you won't with just 1 stick.

OMG Dude, no! No difference.. none, zit, nada! It doesn't matter how you've stacked the RAM physically. It only matters how much your OS detects it to be able to use/handle it as primary memory.

Guys any advice for my p150hm? I'm running a 2760qm.
Would the corsair 1600 do (2x4gb) or the Kingston 1866 Pnp?
    Currently I'm running 4x2gb 1333 Kingston modules.
