Hey all, I am trying to set up Intel SRT with my NP9150 and a "clean" (no partitions in diskpart) Crucial m4 64gb mSata SSD. the laptop was in raid mode and has a fresh install of windows 8 pro. I keep getting an unknown error from intel RST when I tell it to accellerate... It manages to mark the hard drive as a caching drive but never starts caching. any ideas?

Nevermind, Managed to figure it out. If you are running UEFI bios, shrink the hard drive by 20 megs, expand it back to full and reboot. It will then work normally

funny workaround. how did u figure it out?

A lot of googling, honestly. the desktop guys on the intel forums figured it out after a lot so I figured that it wouldn't hurt to try and reproduce it. Something weird about the way that the windows installer creates partitions.

so now your disk has one partition or two like this?

That's a pretty strange workaround indeed. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I hear of this issue.

It has the same partition structure (I think windows 8 uefi does 3 or 4). I just shrunk/expanded the primary (largest/windows/files) partition

You're telling me... it kept popping up on the official Intel forums and sure enough it works.

Wow. That's great that you found a workaround. I'd still very much like to know the technical issue behind the why.
P.S. Who/what is that on the can in your avatar? Reminds me of a certain game...
