I recently ordered a Sager NP9170 and I fully plan on doing an unboxing and review for you guys. That is just to say thanks a ton because I would probably have ended up with an older Asus G-series or something like that.

I hope to get the laptop Friday or Saturday (I ordered at 6:00 AM last Friday morning) and I will post all this stuff then.

I also did a full (Very long) review of my reseller of choice, LPC-Digital

Don't worry, I will cover that too :)

Unfortunately, most of my games are 2+ years old. I don't plan on getting any new ones soon unless someone knows a legal way of getting them for free.

So your just inventing the answer? No need to reply, you have just proved what I thought, you actually have zero clue of what your talking about, other then you read a few posts.

Good to know your so well informed. You can bet I will be looking forward to your next revelation posted here.

But for light reading, do a little research on optimus release history. It might do you well to know what is involved in solving such issues.

haha must be an AMD fanboi, fyi, i dont support either company, i want a product that works. Also no company is stupid enough to come out right and say they arent going to fix the problem, they simply pretend they don't know about it

    p.s. sorry for replying :p

AMD has already stated they are looking into Enduro, don't know where you found your information.

Don't know where you found your information, but AMD has never stated anything.

We assume they.. and yet nothing has been clarified, not even by Sager who tried to help

A member of the Catalyst team has said they are investigating the problem. No word about any potential fixes though.

Lets assume is as serious an issue as Optimus was on release, it will not be quick but it will get fixed.

One must remember, technology that takes years to develop, can take month of regression engineering to find route cause and solution for issues. I was once part of an engineering discovery test team, see our notebook launched and out of the gate had issues, serious issues, but they never appeared in testing for the product alphas. Yet right day one in customers hands, they began. 4 months it took to drill down to find out one ASIC company made a change to their chip, no documentation, no warning not even a revision change, they made a small change to the firmware, yet that had catastrophic results for us.

Who knows where the issue lies, could be an AMD screw up, could be Intel, could be a ASIC partner, also can be the OEMs making poor choices like coil whine on the 7970 cards from cheap brands. End of day AMD is responsible for finding, and solving the issue, that does matter.

They only just made us aware they are testing, and looking into the issue, I am 100% it is not an easy fix, and will take some serious engineering work to solve it.

I hope it is quicker then Nvidia solved optimus, but it may, could be longer.

But to come out and just say they wont fix it? with no real knowledge? I am an admitted ATI/AMD fanboi, but I currently own an Intel CPU, because reality is SBi7 offered me better deal for the money.

I am confident Enduro will be fixed, but it may not be a short road.

It is fine. I will just make a new thread for the actual review... still a bit annoying though.

Anyways, I could make an unboxing video if you guys want, but I will not go through the trouble unless a lot of people want it.

Instead of an unboxing video how about something different. Possibly use it for a week then do a video review of the pros and cons you feel about the computer.

I could.... depends on the interest level though. I will be busy for the next 8-9 months (For those who can't figure this out, school) so I don't want to do anything that people don't want to see.

    Thinking.... maybe....

I really don't know why people want unboxing videos anyways... (I just offered to do it because I see requests for one quite often.

I like unboxing videos :) I think it has something to do with sharing the enjoyment of getting a new toy :)
I like Hutsady@XoticPC's suggestion, I vote for that.

GTX675M is still very good and Optimus is all fixed up, it's a worry free choice :D. Actually not sure why I went with the GTX680M, probably just wanted to get a taste of the new technology and run games in ultra mode. If next year you need a more power GPU you can always upgrade it yourself.

    Nope

I really don't have that many games, and I just play games that you can get up and leave for awhile...
