My screen went black just a few minutes ago, but if I look closely, I can still see what's going on, so I suspect something happened to my backlight. Anyone know if there's a hotkey I might have accidentally hit that turns the backlight off?
And if it's broken... I'll have to buy a new LCD, won't I?

It could be that or the switch that controls the dimming of the display when you close the lid. If it is under warranty it will be covered. I would suggest contacting technical support where you purchased it from.

Actually, the problem seems to be some kind of small connection issue. I fixed it (or atleast it's currently working just fine) by moving the LCD itself to the right a little bit. I think I may have unintentionally caused this to happen when I unscrewed everything to clean out the coke I spilled a few weeks ago.
I'm glad it's covered under warranty, though, because I can see something like this happening again... and being permanent. -

I hope for you sake, they cannot link it back to you spilling coke on it. If they do, they probably will not cover it under warranty.
