Last week when I was playing game with my NP9262, it shut down suddenly. (totally shutdown without exit windows normally)

then when i turn the computer back on it looks fine as usual, except that the charging light turns amber and never goes green. Windows detected that it's plugged, but the percentage of the battery is keep dropping as I use...

finally, it shut down as it reach critical low battery level. I can't turn it back on as the battery never recharge!!!

Before I buy a new battery to try it on, i want ask if this looks to be a battery problem or it's the mainboard's battery control module problem?

    Can't turn on...
I tried when the battery still got 60% of power.
I unmount the battery and the thing just can't turn on

the power connector or the power brick might need to be replaced.

so you suggest that might not be a battery or MB problem but the adaptor's?

    thats my guess.

Contact your vendor for their take... but it could be the motherboard as well.. the power connector part of it.

The problem is, my warranty has expired and I am not in the States.
So... rather than send it back to Sager and pay for the shipment, repairing cost, and shipment ... do you think it'll be a better idea to dissemble the parts and sell them, then use the money and remaining parts to build a new desktop?

    Thanks anyway!

    where are you located?

there could be a Clevo service center near you.

also, you can look for another D900 power brick to see if that is the problem.. it would be the easiest thing to rule out.

you can ask.... contact Kobalt just see if they are willing to let you bring your notebook there (if they have a D900 power brick) for you to test with.

then you can say that you will buy it from them if that is the problem... I can see that happening pretty smoothly.

It may also be a video card problem. The NP9262 will not turn on if one of the video cards is bad. (8800s)
I had a similar problem. Green light indicator ON on bottom of LCD screen if battery and AC plugged in. If I took the battery out, but still with AC plugged in, no light or yellow light on LCD screen.
If your NP9262 is about 2-3 years old, it seems that the 8800 video cards were "iffy" at best.

Gophn's advice is solid, as usual. It sounds like it's either the AC adapter or the actual power connector on the notebook. nfortunately, since the NP926x doesn't use a traditional DC power connector, you can't just hook a voltmeter up to your AC adapter, but the AC adapter is going to be the cheapest item to check.

If you can do as Gophn suggests and carry the system in to a Clevo OEM in the UK, they may be able to rule it in or out or you, but there's not much beyond that to be done.
