I am curious why haven't you upgraded to 4gb for $35?
I can read my HDD's model in BIOS.

LOL. You bought an NP9262 and you base your performance off the WEI...

don't worry about the WEI. it makes people insecure. they should call it the Worry Experience Index. besides, stick another gig or 2 of ram in and your worries should go away. i wanna see pics of her and the "it's huge!!!!"

Nirvana at the time it was not 35 dollars. And i wanted to keep the price below 3000 dollars and thats why I went with the 37 dollar shipping. yes I'm a cheap bastard, also I knew that I can upgrade the RAM myself. But what I was focusing on was the HDD score supposedly 200gig 16mb sataIII.

Lithus: yes i'm going to run 3dmark06 and thats its it. But it atleast gives me and other a ruff idea out of the box performance.

Ya know, most guys would not admit to having never heard thier wifes (or girlfriends) ever saying that :confused2:

As for your windows score. Many will agree, it is meaningless. Many computers, with the exact same hardware config, will come up with very different scores. If you want to see if your lappy is performing as good as she should be, go with 3DMark06. You can download it for free (or pay for it) from here .. 3DMark06 Download Page

WEI gives you almost no idea about performance. Seriously, it's very much like a dartboard of performance numbers.

You should read this review here:
    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=4391

And use the benchmarks here to compare with your system... not the lame Windows one.

As for SMART... you can use utilities that can monitor the hardware with:
    - RMclock (for CPU)
    - RivaTuner (for GPU)
    - HWmonitor (all in one)
    - Everest (all in one)

Ditto. The 9262 would be way cooler than a 5793. It`s all about the money and portability though :)

portability ha ...I travel quite a bit and thats when I do my gaming. Anyway called tech support at sager about the 8800gtx attached to the daughter slot. First I was overly surprised and they answered on the first ring. It actually got me off guard stuttered quite a bit trying to gather my thoughts. According to the tech for some reason the BIOS reading is incorrect Daughter slot = Primary Slot and Primary Slot = Daughter Slot, for some reason he started laughin (rock the slot primary in the daughter ehhhh).

And apparently they installed the Seagate 200gig momentus 7200.2 16mb cache....And has great reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148307

in the coming months I will be purchasing an extra Seagate and another stick of Ram (2gig).

    BTW memtest ran flawless overnite.

12500-13000 is a normal score for Vista, and about 13-13.5k is normal for XP.
    It doesn`t mean much anway.

No problems. At idle very silent. At full load temperatures steady at 65-70 degrees (cores temperature) I can hear the fans running, but I can still watch a movie without been too bother. I am running at full load for a few days and it performs without problems. No Blue screen since I go it, though I alreday installed many programs. Best pc I saw until now, stable and not noisy.

I did not try any games yet.

Finally got off my butt, to post the pics...here is the cloth radtech it works great and it gives me a peace of mind when I travel (2-3 days out of the week). I used one on my voodoo pc M855 and it worked great, without it I used to get the keyboard imperssion on the screen. But I dont think the NP9262 has that issue anyway I got it to make me feel good when I travel.

Here is some more pics and if you have any questions just ask, oh and included the notebook bag it came with, I dont think I will be using that I cant even fit the power brick and a game in the bag let alone a mouse.

my only gripe after traveling and extensive gaming at the hotel room is two major things

-USB ports on the right side (I usually have two laptops on my desk at the same time..)
-power brick cord is not long enough to sit on the floor

    whats next for my NP9262:
    -3 320gb HDD
-4 gig corsair gaming sticks (yes its expensive, but I can)
-I submitted a design to smooth creations so I'll send it in during my vacation when all the upgrades are going on. and when I'm not traveling.

-I will not upgrade the video cards no need to...chuggling along nicely now. currently playing COD4 and 2142. AoC and WoW (off and on).

    thank you for looking.

Beautiful!!! Now, what's all that dust doing there? :D

Also, since I know that you have nothing to do other than take requests from us here in the peanut gallery, you've got a good hand with the digi-cam, and I really like the up-close, detail shots; I don't suppose that you'd have any interest in doing a more comprehensive close-up of all the little bits and pieces? Maybe even just a few more, as time permits?

You should also see about getting official NBR reviewer status (no cash, as far as I know, but you get your username in a different highlight than the regular schmucks like myself :D ) since you've taken the time and effort to give us a nice review with some pics that have not been seen before.

Soda cans have been used in the past (e.g., in some of Chaz' reviews) and that seems to be a pretty good scaling tool.

Thanks for the updated pix! It's good to get the kids taught early on these things; however, where's your son's anti-static wrist-strap? Merely using an anti-static work pad is not enough (I can, unfortunately, attest to that :( ).

Sorry to chime in so late.
Mrblur, it looks really sweet. I remember talking to you about it at purchase, but this is the first time I saw your review. Nice pictures. Your kid has grown a bit since the pictures of him helping you with your orange m855 lappy.

Its a sweet system you have, I saw you upgraded the memory, but did you get to the harddrives yet?

The new 7200rpm drives are more power efficient than the last generation drives, so that may help to decrease your harddrive temperatures. I remember you emailing me about it, I just wanted to know if the upgraded drives were running cooler for you.

Have not upgraded the HDD yet, but what I have read the Seagate is 320gb champs, but I'm concerned of the high temps. So i'm going to look at all the different charts later on the 320gb. I'm liking the WD black 320gb....
