Just got my NP9262. Only been using for a few minutes, and plan on posting some type of review later.
Here is the welcome screen:

Congratulations, that looks great! I look forward to a more detailed review.
-
congrats, insane machine. laughed when i saw the back of it though, i count 5 vents and they must be huge
-
Wow! You already got it? Who did you order from?
-
I'd be happy if I just got notification of shipping on mine... I will be looking forward to the review here as I have the same one on order minus the tuner and plus one hd
-
-
Well, saintalfonzo, they should set up an assembly line because I ordered mine configured like that too.

We normally get all tracking numbers the morning after shipment (around 12:30AM) We then update all orders that were shipped.
-
sigh....no shipping notification.....it's never coming....sigh
-
We'll have to check at about half past midnight Nebraska time tonight... If I don't see my shipment by friday I'm afraid I will suffer from a spontaneous brain bleed. I've been without a computer ( minus this one at work ) since I sent my overpriced vaio pile back to sony about a month ago. That was a customer service nightmare that I could've done without, and incidentally happened to deter me from ever purchasing a sony product again. Well ok, it's almost impossible but I'm going to try... Anyway, I'm envious of your early shipment to say the least.

Looking forward to the review.

You and me 3 dude...
I`ve been waiting for a review from somebody with a 8800M GTX since forever...
And I mean user review, with the best drivers, in game fps ,temps and all that. -
Nice, I look forward also to see your posts with benchmarks etc...
Cors916 -
With a single 8800M GTX? :wow: That is awesome...SLI should get you about 13-14 easily, even 15k OCed...
That just makes me wanna smash my M570RU -

Great score! I guess that is about what I will get seeing that we have about the same configuation.
-
Looks mostly like what I have on order, but I will be running xp pro and RAID 0 with a third HD for my scratch area (mostly for cs3).
Kinda wondering if you have RAID 0 and how much of a hit you think you are getting from using vista instead of xp. -
I only have one 160gb drive. However I am ordering a second one and putting them in raid 0 soon. Would be interested in 3dmark scores from xp pro too with around the same config
.

I just noticed that the refresh rate available is only 59hz, will this become much of a problem or really nothing to worry about?
-
What version of the 169.28 are you using? I looked at the one on laptopvideo2go? the one I found doesn't have support for the 8800x gtx only the 8800 gtx.
Thanks
residnt -
The modded inf adds support for the 8800m gtx. I am using the vista 64-bit version.
-
awesome that worked perfectly, thanks

4000+ added on for processor. q6700
3dmark should just score the video card.
i get 30pfs+ with a single 7900gtx on bioshock all high @1900x1200.
I think these 8800's are only maybe 20% better maybe 30% when oc'd matched against another oc'd 79xx card. single of course. -

Dell tried to hand out screens with a 59Hz refresh a while back also. Most users that were concerned shipped them back to Dell and got new LCD's with a 60Hz refresh. I hope that Clevo didn't change LCD manufacturers.
Again if it doesn't bother you don't worry about it. But there have been issues with 59Hz screens in the past. -
plus, at best the card is maybe 30% at absolute max better than the 79xx series.
30% is something. but it ain't like 50% or 100%.
wait for the 98xx for 50-60%
Yes the 8800m is better, but how much better is the question.
and i'm talkin bout my card. My card is oc'd as absolutely far as it could go. with the geometric delta clock added and the thermal cut-off removed. it peaks at 92-95 degrees.
as is my card is a hell of a 79xx for what it is. I can get some wicked Real world benches out of it.
of course we will see how far the 8800m can oc as well. then all bets are definently off. i think. -

Hope you get your new toy soon and it (as well as mine) has a 60hz refresh rate. -
Well I recieved my 9262 yesterday and the screen is 59hz.
-
-
no there is no way to force a LCD's native refresh.
when playing games you can edit the config files to reflect your LCD's refresh rate so that the game would not have issues.
I have a 61Hz LCD panel, its been perfect so far... only BF games needed the config edit... which was easy to do. -
ok thanks alot for the reply I don't think its worth the hassle of sending it back just for 60hz. Yeah all the games i've played, haven't had a problem so far.
-
Wow, now I am worried about problems with a computer that has not been delivered yet. -
the dual 8700's get like 11k in 3dmark.
I can open a can of wupazz on them in any res over 1600x xxx.
with 1 single 7900.
3dmark means absolutely nothing in the Real World.
cept for Internet E-Peen. -
No, it's not true. 7950GTX SLI can get you to around 10000 3DMarks (in 06), while dual 8700 to around 8500 if I remember well.
3DMark means something, it is overrated, but it means something. -
Day to day work will not cause any issues.
Only certain games (like BF series) will require to adjust the configuration file to set the proper refresh rate... while most other games auto-detect it for you. -
dexgo, nobody gives a rat's ass what you're getting with your 7900 anymore. Let it go man. It reminds me of when all the kids who still had sega genesis when super nintendo came out wanted to believe genesis was still better because it ran at 7.5 MgHz and the snes ran at 3.4. GAWL!!
-
there really is no excuse for the screen not being 60 hz, even if it is a small issue. If you buy what is supposed to be the top gaming laptop it should have the best IMO. It's complete BS!
-
Do you really have to post in every single thread about your OC'ed 7900?
Not only do you brag about your own results, but you talk down on everything even if the results are better than yours. chill out man.
Just let it be and let people bench their stuff without this nonsense. People have had these new computers for a matter of hours, probably haven't even found the best driver for it yet.
3dmark may not mean much in terms of gaming FPS but have you ever considered that crysis is not the be-all-end-all of benchmarks? 3dmark is an accurate representation of your computer's "computing power" and it is a good way to quantify differences between components, whether it is noticeable or not.

congrats on the quick delivery hehe. should be awesome to see more and more info come up about the new 9262.
i've never heard of this 59hz thing before, I guess if it is not a huge issue there isn't much to worry about.
is 60hz even considered better? or is it just a matter of compatibility? could this be a software issue just reporting it wrong? -
In LCDs refresh rate doesn't matter. It's the program's fault if it's not working properly. Still, my Samsung can do 60Hz without any problems. It's kinda weird having 59 or 61. It's still not 60! But it's fine if it works. Who cares if it 59 when everything is working just right? Apple consumers don't worry, why should you?
-
I stumbled upon this post from Google, since my friend ordered one of these and I wanted to see if there were any positive words out about it yet... I saw the problems with the refresh rate, and thought I might know why this is happening.
For those experiencing the 59hz refresh rate, I recommend trying something to potentially fix this. I believe it's actually with the drivers, not the display that's causing this issue. I remember reading in one of the beta driver changelogs that there was only 59.94Hz refresh enabled, which is possibly causing your issue for it showing a ( probably rounded down ) 59Hz refresh rate. Check the site that has those modified drivers and see if you can find a 163.xx Release, non beta driver and apply it to your machine (hopefully being compatible with the 8800 - If not, you can always revert back). Check the refresh rate after that. If it's still 59, then it's probably the monitor, but I'm highly confident that the beta drivers are causing this issue. Post back and give your results ( or insult me for being stupid and crazy)
-
Someone should test this.
-
Bummer, I also though 60 Hz was a factory standard.
Well, goog thing mine`s at 60 hz -
Could you tell us which box you have that has 60hz and just how drunk you are. -
Don't they share the same screens?
