My driver is a Realtek HD Audio Driver. Whenever I try to speak to people online (using skype and trillian) my mic volume always seems to be very low. Though I can hear them, they seem to have a hard time hearing me. To test what my voice sounds like, I tried using a recorder (Audacity) and it was true that my laptop was emitting low mic volumes. I tried everything from putting mic volumes up to enabling mic booster. None of this seems to work. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

remember there are multiple mic volume controls:
    - one in Windows Master Volume (make sure mic is set to max vol)
    - one in Windows Recording Control (select the Mic and max the vol)
    - and minor settings in the Realtek sound effect/manager.

I usually use a headset with mic, so I do not have this issue, but I have tested the mic on mine and its fine, but you need to focus your voice toward the bottom of the LCD screen (toward the left of the center) for the sound to be good enough.
