That is the configuration I am probably going to go with. I'd like SLI but budget is a concern. However I noticed that with 4GB of RAM I'd need to use 64-bit Vista. Is there any other way I could use Windows XP and still utilize the 4GB?

dont need over 2GB for XP IMO. get one 2 GB stick and you can upgrade later with another to total 4 GB.

Alright thanks. On a side note I am going to college next year and I'd like a viable option for travel to take to classes and what not. For more or less the same price I can get the 5793 with this config.

Is the 9262 that heavy. I've read about the battery life yet even in class I can keep it plugged in. Yet with the 5793 I lose the one HD I plan to put my Linux partition on. More or less my question is, which would be better suited for a college student who would be out and about.

64 Bit XP can also use 4GB, it's not only 64 bit Vista that is able to use 4GB.

    Out and about?

The 9262 weighs about 4 pounds more than the Sager. Think about it.

Linux can be install also on the same partition. On my first computer I managd to put XP and linux on a single HDD of 40 G and still manage to have some free space for movies.

Thanks that helps with the 64 bit XP thing. Just one more thing though. In terms of longevity which would you guys expect to last the longest. I plan to probably get about 4 years or so with the configuration as is. Which would you guys expect to last me longer. Even then I can upgrade in the future but I mostly just want the most bang for my buck in terms of longevity.

Never buy a laptop expecting it to be upgradeable.

Probably the 9262, since it can use Desktop processors, you will probably be able to get more computing power out of it for a longer period of time. Even if you can't upgrade, the desktop CPU will provide more performance compared to the mobile CPU.

The 5793 will be limited to Socket P Penryns.

Alright thanks. You've helped me a bunch. I'm now leaning towards the 9262 but I"ll just do some further research first.
