Alright so it finally got here :) I ordered my NP9262 from XoticPC on 1/14, and received it today 1/25. Not too bad turnaround, especially considering the holiday in there.

    The specs:
    NP9262 (obviously)
    Q6700 Quad core processor (2.66Ghz)
    4 gigs of RAM
    2x 100GB 7200rpm SATA HDs (RAID-0)
    Vista Ultimate x64

EDIT: Looks like the drive isn't anything new, just the stock 167.44. LaptopVideo2Go reported today a 'new' 167.44 from Sager for Vista x64, but I'm not sure what that is.

Everything else I can say has already been said. The build quality is awesome. The thing weighs a ton, but I expected that. It is shiny. The screen is beautiful with no dead pixels, and so far I am very very happy with it. I will add to this later when I've had more time to spend with it :)

Quick and dirty Benchmark results, these results are right out of the box. Have not disabled any services or uninstalled any programs.

Congrats :) good to hear you received it without any issues.

That is a pretty quick turnaround time.

Yeah, if you put in the custom drives from laptopvideo2go.com then it should be even higher.

P.S. - Anyone got a good backpack recommendation for the NP9262?

I have a great Swiss Gear 17" laptop backpack, but the 9262 is like just BARELY too big for it :(

I see one advantage that the D900K has over the D901C, and thats the raid controller. Wow 92 mb per second average, thats pretty good but it would be better with a via controller. I have similar drives and my hdtune scores are much higher. I suggest uninstalling any crapware and use only the newest drivers.

When VIA released new drivers for the K8T890CE chipset, my raid o array broke 200mb/sec on the high end, which was about 20mb/sec higher than the stock driver.

Otherwise, its a very nice system.
Do you have dual 7950's, 8700's or 8800's?
Man that system would be awesome with dual quadro's.

Intel has the best RAID controllers (along with nVidia).

O yeah, if you want Blu Ray, just get an internal drive and an enclosure.

I use the Targus XL backpack.

It fits perfectly and there are tons of other pockets. enough to fit my Zalman cooler in the next pocket and then a lot of other stuff as well.

I almost bought the Booq Bag Boa XL but that was almost $200.

If you're looking for a case instead of a backpack, here is what I use:
    http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=CBT401DUS

It seems to be very sturdy and the seams are all sewn well. There is only room in the main compartment for the laptop. The top "wall" of the main compartment has several pockets that will hold a couple CDs each in their jewel cases, plus a cd-binder-like thing sewn in to hold extra discs. It also has a few internal pockets for other small accessories(wireless mouse, usb cables). There is a second zippered compartment that has a divider and serves as a file compartment. Then there are two external pockets, one velcro and one clipped shut where the 9262's power supply does fit comfortably, and some smaller zippered pockets for other things. Also has pencil/pen holders, etc. Pretty much everything you'll find in a nice laptop case plus a good amount of space, with great build quality.

I ended up going with the Targus XL because I need a backpack style. I commute to work, and sometimes walk a bit depending on if I drive or take the ferry and bus/walk it.

Just an update on this laptop: Wow it runs things so great! But we all know how well it performs...

The build quality is amazing. I opened up my old laptop next to it (A sturdy Gateway) and my old one felt so flimsy by comparison. And the keyboard on the NP9262 is amazing! Very responsive, great sized and everything.

I'm so happy with this thing.

I'd also like to compliment Justin over at XoticPC.com for his great customer service and quick turnaroudn time. Thanks a ton!

Just also adding that the wireless card in the NP9262 is phenomenal. I haven't tested any super high traffic over the local network, but usually when I was running 802.11g it would bottleneck even on high end internet traffic, but last night here's what I was pulling down with cable wirelessly to my Belkin Visual N1 router:
This is exactly the same speeds I get without a router in the mix connected straight to the modem.

My old linksys router wouldn't budge over 8 megabits or so wirelessly, even with a supposed full strength 54mbps connection.

Yeah, I donno really about PCMark. Especially considering this is the 2.66 quad core, none of the mobile processors would come close.

Just a small update... Installed Vista SP1 and didn't see any changes, pretty much as I expected. But the system does seem a bit peppier in general, I'm liking it so far.
