I'm not sure why but suddenly my screen wont turn off anymore while I'm not using the PC, so what happens is the screensaver runs all the time, this is bad since i dont turn off my laptop really so the screen not turning off is bad. Any ideas why, i tried checking my vista power settings but they are set correctly, even a screen off setting of 1 minute doesnt work. Has anyone had this problem before? Only thing I can think of is I am traveling and the laptop bag fell a bit.

It could be a software or a hardware (or both :))

Assuming your power options are set correctly,,, are you using a mouse?

I have this problem with my optical mouse where it keeps moving few pixels around even if its not touched, which brings my monitor up.

Try unplug your mouse, also disable the touchpad (Fn+F1), and see if you are still having it.
