    Good Evening!

I just purchased an NP9262. Here are the specs:

    - Operating System: Genuine MS Windows® VISTA Home Premium 32/64-Bit Edition
    - Memory: 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 2 X 2048MB
    - RAID Storage Options: RAID-1 Storage ( Data Mirror - Requires 2nd Hard Disk Drive )
    - Primary Hard Disk Drive: 200GB 7200rpm SATA 300 Hard Drive
    - 2nd Hard Disk Drive: 200GB 7200rpm SATA 300 Secondary Hard Disk Drive in RAID configuration
    - Optical Drive: 8X DVD±R/RW/4X +DL Super-Multi Drive & Software
    - Wireless Network Card: Intel PRO/Wireless 4965AGN - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN Module
    - Bluetooth: Internal Bluetooth Module
    - Primary Battery: Smart Li-ION Battery Pack

I was hoping you all good help me with a couple of questions I have about using the Vista BitLocker disk encryption utility.

First question: Does anyone know if the NP9262 has a Trusted Platform Module (TPM)?

Second question: Is a TPM needed to use the BitLocker disk enryption?

I'd really appreciate your help ...

    Mike

No TPM on the 9262. :(

On systems without TPM, BitLocker can provide encryption, but not the added security of locking keys with TPM

On an added note here is how to enable bitblocker without TPM, but instead a USB drive. I myself ordered my laptop with vista ultimate to take advantage of this feature.
How to activate Bitblocker with a USB drive

i was wondering the same about TPM as i downloaded the drivers off of my vendors site for D90xc and it had this driver with it.

I wonder why? here is an example off of their site.:

EUROCOM D900C PHANTOM-X WINDOWS XP DRIVERS:

    WINDOWS XP 32BIT DRIVERS

    DRIVER

RAID Driver 6.2.1.1002 - To install drivers, please run F6flpy32.EXE in archive to make one floopy disk for RAID&AHCI driver. 267KB 05/31/2007
    Matrix Driver 6.2.1.1002 18.4MB 05/31/2007
    TPM Utility 3.7.1.13 22.5MB 06/01/2007
    Camera Driver 2.6.0.76 2.95MB 07/30/2007

    http://www.eurocom.com/support/drivers/zip/D900C/XP32/04TPM.zip

I had the same prob because I was led to believe it had TPM but did not when I installed the drivers it didn't work and said I didn't have the chip.

oh well. just funny is all that they have it on their drivers site.

Just confirming Justin's comment here: the NP9260 did have a TPM module, but subsequent NP926x/D900C releases removed it.
