I'd recommend NP5793 because well, if you're not in a position to go totally postal on spending, then NO! SLi is not worth it...
And secondly the T9300 is more than great for anyone's needs!
There's also the promo on the 5793 for the RAM going on
Oh and finally, 5793 is more portable and sports better battery life!
The only reason I would recommend a 9262, other than SLi, would be for a quad core CPU, which you haven't really chosen.. and it's for people who aren't on the move, and except the laptop to be in one place all the time.
The 9262 is also heavier.... much heavier
Finally the 5793 will be cheaper, and is slimmer and better looking IMO (but looks are subjective)..
EDIT: In case you aren't aware already, you can get a much better deal from www.xoticpc.com -
I would mostly use the laptop at home, in my room but also very often I want to chill down in the livingroom with the laptop so I guess 5kg would be a little to much to hold ^^
And also in 2 years I go to another school were we need laptops so a heavy one would not be good to move everyday...
Thanks -
I just edited. Read everything.
Oh and good choice if you plan to buy the Sager NP5793I'll be doing the same in a couple of weeks... from XoticPC.
-
I'm on the move all the time, and took the d901c.
plus it's got 3 hdd's wadds more power. SLi, more future proof etc.
If you want a gaming Monster. get the 901c.
there's no if's and's or but's....
you can get single right now and add sli any time you want.
the benchmarks for sli 8800's show that it actually doubles the fps people are getting in some games like CRYSIS 1900x1200 30fps all high settings. you can maybe avg 15-16fps on a single 8800.
plus you have raid 0,1,5...
there is no comparison. they are totally different computers.
the RU is for for normal gaming and mobiltiy.
the 901 is a mobile KILLER desktop. yes. not just a normal desktop a great desktop that's mobile. -
also in 2 years you could get a new notebook...
plus if i were needing a notebook for school I would just go to wal-mart and get a 500 dollar tosh...
just for word processing...
i mean really. -
Hmm indeed it's about 200$ difference but what are the shipping costs @ XoticPC?
-
And a wal-wart notebook would not be enough -
-
there are plenty of places to order from.
when you think about it these notebooks are worlds apart.
1 is a desktop. the other is a real laptop.
what do you want? it's up to you.
people ask this question like 2 times every single day here.
do you want a desktop that's lugable or a laptop that's mobile? -
-
2 prasad: you really like sager and xoticpc.com,don`t you?
-
I like clevo
-
I like Angelina Jolie, but I can`t configure her .
-
^lol.
but sager is so better then Angelina Jolie!sager has an extreme proc.,8800 gtx and 200gb 7200rpm hdd configs. aveilable!!!What of those are available with Angelina ???She doesn't have even Wi-Fi... -
Angelina can make your fps rise faster and faster.
Your laptop will always lag next to her
I would configure her with bigger...
Na, she`s perfect. -
-
Lets see you guys say that 10 years from now
Just like tech she will get outdated.... but then again.... the wonders of modern surgery...
Oh btw .. depending on what you need you ought to pick... this has been repeated many times : You want killer gaming rig that you could possibly haul around = 9262
Portable and awesome within its own ranks for gaming(coz of the 8800 GTX) = 5793 -
-
I didnt say the 5793 OR the 6292 was "perfect" ....
EDIT : I must quote myself "Just like tech she will get outdated" ... so the point of your post was...??
/mumble mumble*timewaster*mumble mumble -
Angelina is an Alienware, not a fat D901C lady...

I wonder if the Np9262 is MUCH STRONGER than NP7393 -
Second, yes, the 9262 is "much stronger" than the 5793 as a general, abstract, proposition since (a) it has a desktop processor, and (b) that processor is a quad-core. However, while general abstractions are fun, they are largely useless and can, in fact, be misleading. The main questions are: what are you going to be using it for primarily, and how are you going to be using it (e.g., how much portability do you need, and how willing are you to put up with carrying the weight-equivalent of almost two gallons of liquid on your back)?
For example, if you're super-buff, love hiking with 100 lbs of gear in a ruck-sack, and are going to be doing serious multi-core processing (e.g., video editing), then the 9262 is hands-down better. On the other hand, if you need to be able to carry it to class every day along with two or three text-books and related paraphrenalia, and think of walking two miles on a city sidewalk as the functional equivalent of the Bataan death-march (my apologies to all who find the comparison offensive), and these are the only two alternatives, then the 5793 would be the better choice. -
This will be my desktop replacement, I wont carry it around so the weight does not matter and using it for video editing & gaming. I have my xps1530 for mobility already! -
If you're not carrying it around and your going to be doing video editing, then the 9262 is probably the best bet. In terms of RAM, there's no really good reason to skimp on it; however, it's more expensive than, e.g., ordering it online, so instead of getting 2GB of RAM in 2 sticks on the 9262, you'd be doing yourself a favor if you configged with one stick of 2GB RAM when you ordered, and then bought a second stick of 2GB RAM online.
-
, ram is cheap anyway
)
NP9262 or NP5793 (configured)
