    I see that iBUYPOWER is offering the NP9280 with the new Core i7-960 CPU. Are other vendors likely to start offering the CPU in the near future?

    An LED-backlit screen would be nice too... ;)

    you can custom order any part that is compatible with any of the Sager notebooks... like CPU, RAM, HDD.

    you just need to contact the vendor about it.

    You can always buy and install the new CPU yourself as well if the vendor is unable to provide the CPU you want.

    That is certainly true, but it is probably a waste of my time and money in this case. Thanks for the suggestion though.
