I took the plunge today and installed Windows 8.1. The install went smooth, but when I try to open up Soundblaster it says that the audio device is disabled, not present or not supported. The way I installed it was first to install the realtek audio driver, reboot, then soundblaster x-fi mb2, and then reboot again. I have sound, and it's showing that my driver is realtek, but I can't open up THX truStudioPRO.
Thanks.

This has been a bit of an intermittent problem, sometimes under Windows 7 even. Have you tried installing the Windows 7 version of the driver and/or the SB software?

For giggles, select the 7.1 configuration in the audio configuration then re-select the default stereo and/or internal-speakers.
Sometimes it does wonky stuff in windows 8 when it tries to initialize the default configuration. -
I feel like an idiot. When you install Soundblaster an icon populates on the desktop to activate it after it has installed.

Does it work after you activate it? I don't recall ever being prompted for activation.
NP9370 won't allow me to use Soundblaster on Windows 8.1
