I recently purchased the above listed laptop and I have searched everywhere and can't find whether or not the (2) M.2 slots are just SATA 3 or PCIE -2x / 4x. I currently have a 512 installed in one of the slots but i know its on the SATA 6Gb/s bus. I would like to upgrade to a (2) 512's PCIE -2 or 4 if possible.

    Can anyone help me out?

    thanks in advance.

Just the regular mSATA III connections, no PCIe.

Edited: added the "m" to avoid any confusion.

Total of 2x mSATA 2x SATA for 2.5" and 1x SATA for the optical drive.

Thanks for the response's..... I kinds figured as much not seeing anything on them in regards to pcie. Do you think it's worth running 2 drives in raid zero for gaming or just keep it with one 512 ssd. Not sure how much it would effect load times, performance ect.

For gaming you're not going to see much difference by having a RAID 0 set up. That helps with any read/write times and for games thats really just during initial game start up and map change times.

The single drive can be faster at small operations too while leaving one slot for the future. Raid makes more sense when you are already getting the largest drives available.

The fastest supported drives will give you comparable performance, since they all are very capable of saturating everything SATA 3 can handle.

Samsung and Intel drives are great.

Intel and Samsung are good but can be expensive. Sandisk and Crucial are great alternatives if you're on more of a budget.

This laptop doesnt have m2 slot, just old school 2 msata. ( 1 down the keyboard and another slot near wifi. ) Then you have 2 Free ssd 2.5 slot. You can also replace dvd burner by an msata or ssd or m2 with convertor.
