I recall people telling me that NP9377 does not support Optimus, but XOTIC lists Optimus as part of the spec. Why is Optimus bad? Does it increase input lag due to being forced to use iGP? Does it reduce performance? I would prefer a laptop without it and I hoped such would be the case with NP9377.... I will go with GTX 980M SLi option.

Yup, no Optimus on SLI, about performance, it seems that it decrease from 3-5% with optimus, and sometimes, some games may have trouble working with it ( you will need to say : Hey , use the dGPU for this game !!) , but, overall it's almost flawless and really efficient when you go on battery :D

I've contacted our webteam to get that error on the spec sheet corrected.

You can still MUX an SLI machine to be able to disable a 2nd card, but all SLI machines must be capable of no optimus at some point.

Like others said, there's no Optimus on this model.

It's not exactly bad, it's just not up to everyone's expectations. People don't like it because Optimus tends to mean that everything is routed to the Intel GPU. The NVidia card can handle rendering, but an application must be able to recognize the card to interface with it; sometimes Optimus causes programs to not see the NVidia card since the Intel graphics are used by default under basic use.
