Can 4710MQ OC past its Turbo 3.5Ghz on NP9377? I read about TDP and temp problems on the other MQ CPU and I think the same applies to all CPU's, but when I checked online it says that MQ CPUs are NOT unlocked! How can they OC then? If they can be overclocked, then how far can the 4710MQ can be pushed on average before it starts to throttle/mess up or heat up too much?

There is +200Mhz ability on the chip which can be added to all turbo levels (1 core, 2core, 3 core and 4 core turbo levels) usually people can undervolt it to at this level to help offset any heat impact.

If you get the 9377, get the 4810MQ.. It will run at 3.8GHz and easily go up to 4.0GHz++ if needed.. The 4710MQ will bottleneck the 980M SLI..

It won't bottleneck it in most games and those it might will still be playable ;) this is true at stock and the 200Mhz oc should keep it relevant into the future.

OK, so now another person tells me otherwise. Intel says that 4710MQ can boost to 3.5Ghz and stay there on all 4 cores. Then there is the 200Mhz OC allowance on top of that. Or can the chip only do 3.3Ghz with 200Mhz allowance that makes it reach 3.5Ghz?

Intel state up to 3.5ghz which is the single core speed. 3.3ghz is the max quad core turbo which can be overclocked to 3.5ghz.
