Hello,
I have been trying to look at various vendors specs of this laptop but it seems none of them have it listed on their page anymore. Is there a reason this laptop isn't for sale anymore? I am trying to find out of the card reader that comes build-in to the laptop will read 256GB Sd cards....

Sager has been taking down a handful of models recently, and that one was included. Same thing with the NP82x8 models, and some of the 867x models as well. Seeing how those are 4th gen processors, that is probably the reason for it. I don't know if I have see anything about the 9377 being able to read or not read that large of an SD card.
-
Strange since they are still selling other intel 4th gen laptops, is there anyway that I could find out if it will read a card that large or not? because I found a 256GB card for a really good deal but if I can't use it on my laptop I don't want to get it
thanks Pat!

cant u just return it or sell it off again on ebay or in the marketplace here if it doesnt work?

The user manual for it says it works with SD (Secure Digital) / Mini SD / SDHC / SDXC, and those 256gb ones would be SDXC. It doesn't say about any size limitations on it. I've never tried one in there so I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like it should be okay.
-
@jaybee83 Yah I guess I could but I rather just not have to waste my time and money if someone on here knew it didn't work, but going on what @pat@xoticpc said looks like it should work so thanks so much Pat for find out that info, if you come across anything else about it please let me know, I appreciate it take care!

Sager are typically conservative with stock so they don't have to clear out stock after a tech generation.

Eurocom X8 is still being sold and it's a P377SM-A. Eurocom offers a 10% student discount that I have in the past, and shipping from Ottawa to Whitby only takes 1 day.

Brent already has one and is just looking for info, but it is good to know for people still looking for one.
If I do run across anything about it, I'll let you know. Otherwise if you try it out, keep us updated
-
Okay I will let you know, I am ordering it now, so should have it next week sometime, again thanks Pat!

Sager tend to order in large quanities, other clevo resellers can still get the odd unit I am sure but clevo will be winding them down too.

I sent Sager an email and they responded that they are going to be releasing a newer model with skylake cpu's in it within the next month.

What was wrong with the current PSU?
-
wil a mobile cpu nothing, but with a desktop model you wouldnt have as much room for overclocking, if at all
even with the largest currently available single psu at 330W, ull already be at 90+100+100 = 290W for the two gpus and the cpu at stock. add to that 30-40W for the rest of the system and ure already close to maxing out the psu...

Well crud monkeys. Not that this is the biggest problem in the world. But, that might change my mind about getting a dual GPU laptop. I have a bad habit of overclocking things for fun.jaybee83 likes this.

I would think that if it is a problem, getting a Y adapter and a 2nd AC adapter would work. Sager has offered it in the past before, and if power consumption is an issue, hopefully it would be an option to get as well.
-
So there is going to be a new SLI model? That´s great. Could be the successor of my X7200 which ist almost 5 years old
. Time to get something new...
I cannot find any more infos about that model, Google only points me to here and another thread on this forum and a polish site... any source?jaybee83 likes this. -

If your tweaking under a power limit then having a desktop CPU or a mobile CPU would make no difference, you could simply limit the desktop CPU to the same power envelope as the mobile one to get maximum graphics performance. -
Interesting, in the "Other Design" section there is painting, shipping mode and battery engine.... Clevo puts everything else under the hood, why not a Prius?
-
Yikes... TPM 2.0... I wonder if they pulled the CSM to make it fully Windows 10 compliant (aka locked down)...
And this sure is bad timing for me to have my machine for an RMA that is pointing to the motherboard being defective...
One thing on there that's interesting though - it confirms that nVidia has a new generation chip coming, in MXM form, compatible with the machine
-
...which prema already confirmed
990M IS gonna be an MXM gpu
-
Batman´s got both TPM 2.0 and CSM, btw...
-
The Z170 chipset doesn't support TPM, same with the Batman's Z97. With such models Clevo has TPM as a factory option; different motherboard with/without the added TPM chip. Hence it will be up to reseller to offer it or not. Hopefully most will make wise decision ... maybe we should have a poll ...
-
I hope you're right. Microsoft wants UEFI, no CSM, and TPM 2.0 in order for a machine to be considered fully 10 compliant so we will have to see. Scary to think the option is even there...t456 said: ↑The Z170 chipset doesn't support TPM, same with the Batman's Z97. Agreed. I'm not amused at all to know that I could have fried my LCD or worse, my UEFI, by using it... If I decide to try it again, I'm dumping UEFI and going back to legacy so Microsoft can't mess with my machine...TomJGX said: ↑Micro$haft can go screw themselves... where did you learn about this? I think this is exactly what happened to me, I am in the RMA process right now....freaking sucks I am so upset about it! Wish I would have known!Ethrem said: ↑Agreed. Although if he was running legacy then it had to be the driver that overwrites the EDIDs unless there is a glitch in the Alienware CSM.Bullrun said: ↑Legacy isn't safe for the LCDs @Mr. Fox was on Legacy.
