Ok, so whenever I play Battlefield 3, I have it set to 1920x1080 (120Hz), and after a few minutes of playing, the game would crash, give me an error and looking into the Event Viewer it says that nvlddmkm.dll Stopped Responding and Recovered and such.

It would always do this unless I turn on vsync.

It actually also did this from Planetside 2, Champions Online and any other game that I get over 60fps. Fortunately I don't usually get to 60 fps for Guildwars 2, so it doesn't happen to that.

I've tried a few fixes including ones listed here: Fixing the Nvlddmkm Error (Display driver has stopped responding) (apart from the hardware solutions of course)

and changing the TdrDelay and TdrDdiDelay in the registry. None of those things have worked for me.

Is anyone else getting this problem? Is there a solution other than having vsync on?

I'm using Sli on 780M's if that matters. I didn't overclock anything either.

Did you flash your cards to svl7 vbios? It should fix all the issues with 120Hz 3D Clevo laptops with 780M

Nope, and honestly, I'm sorta scared to do so as I've never done it before. Didn't want to risk bricking anything.

Would the Clevo vbios work with a Sager machine? I understand they're pretty much the same product as far as hardware goes.

Thanks, since I'm new to all this flashing stuff. Will it be compatible with new nVidia drivers? I'm using the newest beta one I think. Also, would this flash mean my clock speeds are going to change, and that I'll need more than one power brick to keep using SLI at 120hz?

Looking at your tutorial, it says that nvflash will only work within Windows. Does that mean I still have to use a Dos Bootable USB drive?

Sorry for all these questions, I just really don't want to mess anything up.

    ---
Anyway, I've made the bootable USB drive, and even got that NVflash. Did a test and got to backup my original vbios. Couldn't really do anything past that since I don't have that .rom file by svl7. I've made 4 posts on Tech Inferno that are undergoing Mod approval, and I need one more after that to be able to download the vbios. I googled the file and found this. Course I can't verify if it's legit or not. It's got the same size as svl7's, but that's as much as I can tell about it.

Just gonna say I'm thankful I know my way around Dos.

Find latest nvflash for DOS version and copy the files to your bootable drive along with svl7 rom. Rename it to have not more than 8 digits, like oc.rom etc. Flash it using the commands from the post (probably straight with "index" example) when you boot to dos.

Nothing extra after flash is required, even driver reinstall! Just flash both gpu's, verify 850/1250 clocks via gpu-z and play)

Gotcha, just waiting on Tech Inferno to verify my posts and give me permission to download the vbios.

Flash done, GPU Clock and Boost now show 850Mhz, not getting the nvlddmkm message on Champions Online anymore. Thanks a bunch.

If this fix is so effective, and the problem is pretty widespread, why aren't Clevo and Sager giving it out their own official version of it?

I'm not getting the "Your Graphics Driver has stopped responding and has recovered" messages anymore on Planetside, that's pretty sweet. Wonder if this same sort of fix was applicable to my M980NU. I kept having that problem on that thing.

Well, it's not their hard work! They should hire svl7 and Prema with their mods if they want to increase sales)

I meant why won't Sager, Clevo, other sellers or even Nvidia come out with their own official version of the fix? And yeah, hiring Svl and Prema would be a good idea for them.

And to your question in this thread. I had to send it back to Reflex Notebook who sent it back to Sager. It just took a week, but when I got it back everything was peachy, apart from this 120Hz problem hehe. Sorry for the overly delayed answer.
