This seems to have made a huge difference. The temps look high on paper, but If I feel the back of my CPU blower it doesn't feel hot at all. But there was 0 thermal throttling this time.

47 point higher bench test score at 3C less.

    New 1.PNG

Settings configured to match what I'm using on my 8.1 drive.

    New 2.PNG

Under XTU 5 minute stress test.

    New 3.PNG

*EDIT* Only huge difference is my Northbridge temp. It rarely goes above 80C in 8.1, temps that high are still pretty scary to me. Any suggestions?

Northbridge gets hot, I've seen hotter.

It looks like if you use max fans you should be good unless you're maxing out the CPU. The temps are still high but the CPU occasionally hitting that temp isn't going to destroy the chip. Thermal paste will fail faster though unless it's something like IC Diamond.

I switched to IC Diamond last night, I suppose these temps will do okay for me. My memory is underclocked though, I don't know if I'd be able to get it up to 2133MHz without getting back to throttling. I never knew I could manually adjust my fans, that's clutch! I just ran a benchmark in Valley to see if there were any performance changes and I noticed that my cards ran the full test without going above 76C whereas before maxing the fans they both would hover around 88C. Time to start overclocking my GPUs! One more thing though, how well do you think these clevo fans handle max RPMs for long durations over time?

Ask @D2 Ultima he forces max fans whenever he games. Honestly as long as the factory lubricant stays viable, the fans should be fine.

Your temps really sound incredibly high. What's your ambient temperature, do you have the laptop propped up or on a notebook cooler, how's your airflow situation, etc?

I mean, I still don't think it's a Windows 10 issue... OP said that his temps were ridiculously high in both Windows 10 and Windows 8.1, so I don't think it has to do with the OS. I agree having the proper Hotkey for your EC can help, and maybe even setting a custom fan speed although that would probably help more with idle temps than load temps. I set a custom fan profile so my fans don't ramp down until 40c so my idle temps are a lot lower than before I set the custom fan profile.

I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's a bad thing if your temps look high on paper and the back of your CPU heatsink doesn't feel hot... It's supposed to feel hot because then that means that it's tossing out all the hot air and thus your temps on paper should look lower.

Whenever I use the laptop I use max fans =D. I had my D900F on max fans for over 4 years straight and never a problem with my fans turned up.

Yeah its a red flag not having the heat come out the back... It means the heatsink isn't making contact with the chip. When my 4940MX is going, I can't hold my hand at the exhaust for more than a few seconds.

There's about 7C lower CPU load temp average and a 10C idle average in 8.1 than I have in 10. But when my CPU hits that 80C mark in 8.1 the fan ramps up and starts pumping out mad heat. In 10 the fan doesn't ramp up until it's over 88C, and its not pushing blazing hot air.

I tried in both 8.1 and 10 ramping the fans to max and the 8.1 temps won't drop below 43C and the 10 temps sometimes go below 48C but mainly sit at 51C, 60C with a non ramped fan. (Idle CPU)

I'm using a cooler master X3 chill pad.

I wonder if having the Clevo software running impacts that, as the OS itself normally would not have direct control over the EC.
