I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I haven't had any major issues or any crashes yet. But I believe I am experiencing compatibility issues with my BIOS and Windows 10. For starters, I can't figure out what frequency my ram is running at. My BIOS says its clocked at 2133, Intel Extreme Tuning shows 1866, CPU-Z shows 2133, Windows performance monitor shows its at 1600, and Speccy shows 1866. My computer no longer boots with the Num Lock on no matter the settings. My CPU wont down clock out of turbo, it sits at 3.61-3.7 GHz. My computer performs better in benchmarks, but it also runs hotter. I have had it for 2 years so I'm sure its time for new thermal paste.

I'm using the 1.3.2 prema bios but I've seen there is a 1.3.3 version on another site, though I'm unclear of what changes it makes or who the author is. I work as a repair agent at Geek Squad, and of all the computers I've upgraded thus far this is a new issue for me.

    Some specs:
    i7 4800MQ stock clock
    2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 stock clocked at 2133
    Sli 780ms
    Samsung 840 Pro (256GB)

Make sure you are in balanced power mode (right click the battery symbol).

    I'd believe the bios/CPU-Z.

Given that it's a Samsung created profile, you may wish to check and see if it's clobbering any changes you've made. Other possible guesses could be settings in other software, such as Intel XTU.

I haven't played around very much in the bios for laptops, but from my desktop days I recall that a processor that refuses to downclock would be caused by disabling specific C-states or EIST in the bios. You could have a look and make sure those are enabled.

Mostly just guessing, but maybe it will generate an idea from someone else.
