    Hey guys,

I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these models. I like the look of the NP9380 better than the NP9390 strictly because of the red on the back and side of the I/O panel. The only thing stopping me from purchasing are concerns about the cooling solution used in the NP9380. From what I read, the NP9390 has improved cooling over past models whereas the NP9380 is using cooling similar to the older models. Since I am going the SLI route, it is a concern of mine.

    Please let me know:
    a) if the cooling setup is indeed different
    and
    b) if it should be a concern.

    Thanks!
    Stanks

    a) The actual cooling apparatus/HS/F is the same from what I understand; the chassis on the p375sm is a bit bigger with more ventilation, thus would think runs a bit cooler (but not much, I'm guessing).
    b) Wouldn't worry either way, both provide ample cooling.

I will say the p375sm looks pretty gaudy. If I was purchasing again, I'd go with the p370sm.

Same cooling system :) It comes down to the preference of looks.

Thanks for the responses! I'm going for the 3980.

So i pulled the trigger on a NP9380-S ( what ever the S means). Excited to get it, i placed the order with XoticPC last week. Any ways, got it with dual 780's and 4700mq with 16GB at 1866Mhz and of course the 120Hz screen. Any recommendations to do when i get it?

Special edition I believe, a set of upgrades at a discount.

My advice is to play some sweet, sweet games.

I'll hijack this thread as I have a similar question. I'm looking to buy one of these(9380-S) from xoticpc. I noticed that they have a copper cooling upgrade available. It looks as though all of the heatsinks and pipes inside are already copper: Sager NP9380 Special 3D - Clevo P370SM3 - LPCDigitalvideo . Does anyone know what xoticpc's option will add to this?

The copper heat sink upgrade consists of additional copper RAM heatsinks that are applied to the heatpipe.
