Does anyone have the same problem where your sensor does not recognize your fingerprint no matter how many times you try to go through the process?

Did you do a Windows update recently? I had an issue with my fingerprint sensor after a Windows update a week or two ago... it wouldn't register my fingerprint when trying to log in (it took forever when trying to read it too) and when I logged in and tried to re-map my fingerprint it wouldn't work. I didn't want to mess around with it so I did a system restore and it's been fine ever since.

If the above isn't the issue, I read on here a little while back that one person had a lot better chance of it being read if he licked his thumbprint prior to scanning. Doesn't hurt to give that a shot.

If you have Windows 7, please go to My Compuer ==> Control Pannel ==> Finger Print Reader, then follow the instruction and set up the FInger Printer.

Try doing a system restore back to when it was working.

You can switch to password as well. Only thing I know of that requires a scan is the safe folder.

As for the topic, I have the same problem. Downloaded the new software as well and then promptly uninstalled it as it kept wanting to lock me out of the system after logging on. It'll read my fingerprint only after I scan it about 20 times so I just started logging on with my password.

Like the only reason I want my fingerprint sensor to work is to use Authentec suite because it saves my passwords.

    Hi,
I have had the same problems for a few weeks now. The problem started after installing a windows update as with others here.
Has anyone found a workaround or at least which update made authentec flip and how to uninstall it...?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled authentec, the driver, both at the same time, installed earlier versions, tried to search in the windowsupdates for relevant updates nd even tried looking for a freeware replacement software. I'm fairly sure it's not the hardware as it kept working for website logon for a while...
I even tried the licking your finger trick here and nothing helps...

oh, and I can't do a system restore as I don't take backups...

i would lick the sensor directly if i were you. :p

in all seriousness though, why don't you uninstall the authentec drivers, Neal Raven, and reinstall sager's driver.

I haven't been able to register mine on the Authentec software at all. (I've only tried after installing Windows 8). No matter how many times I try to register, I end up with "Do You Want To Try Again?". It doesn't give me any errors while scanning & the progress bar fills up as I repeat the fingerprint scans, but then at the end I get the message asking me to try again.

Has anyone else faced the same issue?

Has a solution to this problem been found yet? I am also in the same predicament when my fingerprint reader suddenly stopped working. When I go to device manager, it says the reader is working but when I go to control panel Biometric device says it is unavailable. Also because of this, the Authentic Truesuite application doesn't show any photos of the fingers anymore and just displays a generic column-like graphics labeled from 1 to 0.

I also am unable to do a system restore I recently switched it back on again since it was turned off.

    Somebody please help on this?
