I have a customized Windows XP x64 CD called Superior XP x64. (with a legal key from Newegg)

My Sager NP9850 is working almost perfectly. I am having a couple issues, however, and am wondering if anybody can help me.

I have found drivers around the internet, using hardware IDs and the wonderful website, DriverGuide. I have most drivers working fine.

The main problem is the fact that "Hotkey", the program allowing usage of the touch-sensitive keys, is not available for XP x86 or x64. I dislike the fact that Sager does not provide drivers for XP, let alone the fact that a 32-bit OS will not install on this laptop. I understand that regular XP 64-bit does not work very well on newer systems, but I get speeds twice as fast with Superior XP as Windows 7. Without Hotkey, I am unable to use my internal Bluetooth device or change volume on-the-fly. Does anybody know where I can get this program? Maybe the original website of the developer, I believe AP-Key?

I also have an unknown device in my Device Manager, with Hardware ID, "ACPI\ITE8709\3&2411E6FE&0". I believe this is the CIR device, said to be needed for various other devices in laptops. Sadly, I cannot find the name of this device anywhere, and the drivers cannot be found either.

Another thing I think may be an issue is that Superior XP had the drivers for my chipset already, so I do not know which device to go by to find the updated drivers for it.

Otherwise, I am quite happy with Superior XP x64 on my laptop, as Crysis gives a much smoother frame rate and loads maps twice as fast as Windows 7 x64. But, until I find a way to fix these issues, I will be very frustrated and dissatisfied with Sager's choice of hardware and support.

Sager does not make the drivers, they get them from Clevo. Maybe some drivers from D901C will work for you pc. Maybe you heard this before, but your computer is so fast that expect for booting there is no visile difference between XP and Windows 7 (Vista is bad on everything).

I wasn't sure about the Clevo business. I called their support before, and they told me to call my laptop's vendor for support. I was like, "They told me to call you!!"

Thanks for the D901C info, I'll try that out.

About XP vs. 7. I can see the noticeable difference. I am not kidding that Crysis loads 2 times as fast with the same settings (High) on XP than Windows 7. Keep in mind this is a custom OS, built for the best speed on 64-bit systems.

I wouldn't worry too much about that driver. I've often run my laptop (M570RU) without it and it's never been an issue. As you mentioned, the ITE8709 is an infrared receiver chip so unless you really care about a remote control for your laptop, just mark the device as disabled and ignore it. I doubt you'll find a WinXP x64 driver for it anywhere. That OS just wasn't very well supported.
