I would like to share with modded inf files for anyone who just upgrade their CLEVO P170HM/P150HM with NVIDIA Geforce GTX 680M.
First problem when I installed new drivers there was a problem with not working brightness settings (up/down brigtness slider and FN key shortcut). I dig a lot and found fix for that.

    Instructions to get it work:

Download beta 304.79 drivers from NVIDIA site:
    http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/304.79/304.79-notebook-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-beta.exe

After first run, close installation there will be error that there is no compatible card. Copy modded "nvcv.inf" and "nvwi.inf" files (attached in this post) into Display.Driver subfolder. Re-run drivers installation. Have fun with GTX 680M on P170HM/P150HM machine :D

    Any opinions appreciated :)

    EDIT: Newest 305.68 compatible drivers:
    geforce305.68.3-modded.exe

you can just download the laptop2video drivers for 305.68 which work by default on the HM series because they included our device id into there infs.

Good to know, I only stick with drivers from NVIDIA site, but I will try 305.68. I guess you are using 305.68 are they stable, do you have any problems with them ?

Man the nvwi.inf has been totally rebuilt by Pieter. I thought the modding for GTX680M driver to work in a HM is only to change the subsystem ID from 5015 to 0000 and still use the same section as 5015 in the nvcv.inf.

Yes it's correct, I didn't know it was done before by Pieter, I didn't found this post. If my thread is dupe, sorry. I thought some users has still problem with brightness settings panel and it's good to share with this.

If you mod only "nvwi.inf" than brightness settings panel (bright/dark slider) doesn't work. So I'm sharing with two edited inf files for lazy guys, they don't need to open notepad to fix their drivers :) that's all, I think not all user knows how to mod drivers.

currently the only issue i have is sleeping causes the screen to remain black but i think i like hibernate better so im gonna use that from now on :D. also the sleeping issue seems to only be P150HM issue

I see, it makes sense. The GTX680M in the nvwi.inf is using the same section as the GTX570M/580M/670M (section 102 and 103) and it's only for general use. But the mod inside the nvcv was specially assigned for the Clevo GTX680M 4GB subsystem ID 5015 for the P150EM, which, when the card is installed onto the HMs the subsystem ID became unreadable and display 0000 instead.

It's wierd becouse I tested hibernation with 304.79 driver and it's working correctly on P170HM machine. Maybe you can't believe but I had problem with black screen after using sleep and it was when I isntalled Service Pack 1 for Windows 7. When I uninstalled it everything works as before. Right now I still don't use SP1 only downloading single fixes from Windows update. Check this solution if you have time.

I meant that Hibernation works, its just sleeping that causes it to have a blank screen. i actually don't feel like its a good idea to remove SP1 ,but its a preference. i also think it has to do with optimus drivers or something like that.

These drivers from laptopvideo2go don't work so far.... :(
