Hi guys. I am new to this forum and hopefully you will be able to help me.
I have a Clevo N150RD gaming laptop (i5-6300hq, gtx 960m, 16gb ram, 256gb SSD NVME) from PC Specialist which has a slot for a M.2 NVME on the motherboard. I have installed a 256gb Lite-on NVME in it and was running very hot...it was idling at around 78C and even going over 80C. I have returned that SSD because I thought it was faulty and got a Toshiba THNSN5256GPUK M.2 NVME and this one is idling at 71-72C. Are these temperatures normal or is there a problem with my laptop? Is there the risk of damage to the SSD or the motherboard if I continue using this Toshiba drive? I have read that these things tend to run pretty hot and there is a very poor air circulation in my laptop but it seems to me it is too hot, I think that over 70C the drive will thermal throttle anyway so I don't know if I should continue using this drive. Thanks

I have to mention that all other temperatures are within normal. Processor 45-50C idle, motherboard 50C idle, gpu about 45C idle. Temperatures have been checked with various software and are consistent.

Seems like that drive is known to run around that temperature.

    Thanks for your reply.

I have updated my BIOS to the latest one and the Tohiba NVME is now idling at 63-65C as opposed to 72C before the upgrade.

Not too bad for that SSD at all then.
