like the title states, i need help obtaining my CD-Key because i received a message this morning telling me that my Win7 was not genuine???

i've never received this message on any of my devices so i'm not sure what to do at this point. Microsoft was utterly useless to me without my CD-Key. the product key was not enough for them to even consider helping me out. the only option they provided me with was: buy a new copy of Windows -- to which i said, "u can go $%@# yourself."

the movers left alot of my old stuff when i moved into my new house. one of the things they left was my Sager's box with all the OEM CD's and stuff inside of it. that's why i don't have access to my CD-Key. i've been Live Chatting XoticPC, but nobody is answering. i'd really appreciate it if someone got back to me soon so i can resolve this issue. this black screen on my desktop is annoying the crap out of me.

    TIA.

Long time no see. There may be a sticker on the bottom of the computer that has the key or you can use a program like magicaljellybean which should pull up your key.

Another product called Produkey from NirSoft, which has served me well.

Also did you try the automated phone activation? I've used this method quite a few times without fail, even if I had to speak to a customer services representative, usually just need the installation ID.

hey buddy. i tried live chatting u guys earlier and hoping i would run into u. all is well i hope.

there is a product key on the bottom side of my laptop that is 15 digits long. i think Microsoft told me that i needed the 12-digit CD-KEY that's on the OEM's sleeve.

i tried that program and i got an OEM product key that is different from the 15-digit product key on the bottom side sticker. did i use it wrong or did i miss the CD-KEY?

I dont know if Sager always will put the key on the bottom, they may just leave it with the disc. I think they actually are normally 25 broken up 5 digits in 5 sets. I would try to enter the one magicaljellybean gives you.

kudos to magicjellybean. It's good software but the free version is limited on which keys it will give you. I'm not sure about Windows 8 but it definitely will give you keys on older OS's and usually Microsoft Office.
