Where can download the latest bios for the Clevo D901C?

I checked both Clevo and Sager's websites and couldn't find a link for downloading bios's. My motherboard has a sticker that says Jan 08 if that helps and it was originally fitted with a Core 2 Quad Q6700. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I download the latest version 1.00.22 but when I run it I get the following error message:

"The program or feature \*\*\ph1652.exe cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available."

Yep, read that. Last entry, in fact says,
So if I read that correctly I don't need the usb stick method, I just download the files and run the update.bat file. But when doing so I get the error I mentioned above.

thats if the OS is compatible... and apparently 64-bit OS is not.

so you will have to use a method to get into DOS.... like the USB drive method

you should imo NEVER flash a bios in windows unless you HAVE TO.. i personally have never had it fail but others have and it can brick your notebook. i do not do it just because i will not take that chance, i used to a long time ago and as i said didnt have a issue... but better safe than sorry

What does the new bios update bring?

If my 9262 64 bit is working fine, should I update, just because?!

No need to fix if it is not broken.

Provided that you in fact know that nothing is broken, and what the BIOS update thinks it's trying to "fix" - that's a pretty tall order for almost anyone other than the actual design team. I'd go with zfactor on this one.

You are right. You can never know when the bugs kick in or what are the long term effect if you do not update.

I want to put a q9550s in my 9262 that came with a q6600 to improve performance and lower the heat generated. Will I need to update the bios and if so can someone post a link to the newest bios that doesn't require a password?

    Thanks in advance,
    George

do not update unless you have to. you risk breaking your notebook for mostly no gains. most bios updates fix very specific problems. if the update will bring a 30% performance boost across the board or something similar youre good to go. but if it fixes a usb issue with peripheral x under y circumstances, better to leave it ;)

Wow, talk about thread from the dead. Your D901C does not need a BIOS update to accept the Q9550S.

Like said if it is a 9262 (meaning is the latest revision of the D901C)... then you can upgrade up to Q9650.
