I am going to be purchasing a new laptop very soon, and I was interested by all the good things being said about Clevo and Sager around these forums. If I get a Sager, I will be getting an NP2096, but I noticed that it is built on a Compal JHL90 rather than on any Clevo notebook. Do the praises of Sager's build quality in this forum extend to such laptops, or do such comments refer specifically to Clevos? Would I be likely see a noticeable difference in build quality if I choose one based on a Clevo instead?
I will say that build quality is important to me, as my current laptop has had several serious problems in quick succession.

The comments viz Sager build quality usually refer to Clevo, not Compal, primarily I think because the Clevos are the more popular models (at least with forum denizens
). If I recall correctly, the build quality of the Compals on which the 209x series is based is a little less than that of the Clevos.

the 2092 has been known to have little problems here and there, mostly overheating problems due to the graphics card that it encompasses the 8600, but with the new 9600 i dont think Over h eaing will be a problem.
Need clarification about Clevo/Sager quality
