Can anyone confirm for me that the GeForce 8800M GTX used in a Sager NP5793 is a MXM 2.1 Type III card? I am planning on replacing my broken 8800M GTX and found one on ebay, except they will only accept returns if they've shipped the wrong part and not if for whatever reason my laptop can't use the new 8800m gtx :S

The Sager NP5793 is MXM IV v2.1. MXM types are backwards compatible, but there are many factors as to whether or not a card bought of eBay will work (mostly software related) if the card didn't originally come from a Clevo. I'd suggest contacting a Clevo vendor to make sure you get the right card for your system.

thanks guys, well right now i am actually trying to make a tough decision, the eBay price for that 8800m gtx is $687 Canadian (i live in Canada) and I can't find a better deal anywhere else (even though this is clearly a crappy deal :S) but i have another option, because there's a local computer store here in Vancouver that have barebone laptops with 8600m GT at pretty much the same price as that 8800 on ebay that is totally compatible with my processor, ram, and hdd....any suggestions? I don't know if I should just transfer my parts to a lower grade laptop for about the same price or risk buying this 8800.........
