    Hello all,
I've been suffering from this crash for ages. And the best fix i've found online requires me to step up my voltage by 1 or 2 steps. Up from the original 1v to 1.025 or 1.050 v.

Would anyone be kind enough to aid me in this ?

the link above attaches my original Nvidia reference bios.

Creating a new thread is not going to help. This sounds like a hardware problem and throwing more voltage at it even if you could would not help.

I'm not understanding what went wrong. Is this a BIOS/firmware update that crashed? Or a driver?

In either case - wouldn't it make more sense to reverse the update? I've never heard of applying additional voltage to resolve a software level problem; it might make sense for bad firmware.

    Hello there,
Apparently, there are plenty of people who crashes with the nvidia driver has crash and recovered error message with this card. And the fixes that they proposed was to step up the Vddc voltage by 0.025.

Sadly, my laptop has gone down already. It powers up, but has no hdd activity. Fan is working though. It happened shortly after I made the first post.

Do you know what sort of GPUs can I upgrade to ? I have the 180w adapter.
Are 6990 660m okay for my mobo? np8130

Ah, so sorry to hear that. :(

Yes, I'm familiar with the crash error; my confusion was from what caused it for you. Typically, increasing voltage or overclocking causes instability, so this seemed oxymoronic to me.

And yes, you can upgrade the GPU. There are people who have upgraded their Sager NP 8130 to the GTX 560M, the GTX 485M, GTX 580M, the Radeon 6970M, and the Radeon 6990M cards, all with excellent results.

Although there is more info there than you may need, I think you'll be pleasantly pleased with it!
