    Hi, everyone!
I've been looking for a gaming laptop for about a month and now my decision making process is in its final stage. And here I really need your help, guys (and maybe girls)! I want to buy a 17' laptop with HD 6990 and i7 2720QM. And I have 3 options:
    1) NEXOC - mobile systems
Nexoc offers quite a good deal. Actually, its price is like 200 Euros less then prices of MySN or Deviltech. They say it's because they are b2b company and buy laptops directly from Clevo, so that's why they have such prices. So, I put i7 2820QM in it, together with HD 6990, and 8GB of RAM(1333). All other stuff is default. In total it's about 1600 Euros (it's my budget btw). Also, nexoc offers assembling at the day they get the payment. That surprised me. Anyone had any experience with nexoc?
    2) DevilTech - High Performance Systems-_Fragbook DTX #
I choose i7 2720QM, HD 6990, and 8GB of RAM(1600). Other stuff is default. In total it's about those same 1600 Euros. And it will take deviltech 3-4 weeks to assemble my order. Kind of frustrating.
    3) mySN.de | XMG XIRIOS XESIA | buy Schenker Notebooks - XMG P701 PRO Gaming Notebook 43,9cm (17.3")
    Same as deviltech - i7 2720QM, HD 6990, 8GB of RAM(1333).

So, what should I choose? I'm kinda skeptical about nexoc because of that 200 Euros less price. As I understand, those laptops are all of the same model, right?
Then, what would you tell me about my configuration? Should I change something?
Is the difference between 2820QM and 2720QM huge?
What's better - take a faster processer or SSD instead of HDD?

P.S. Sorry for this wall of text. I would really appreciate any help from you guys!

    Thank you.

1.) Yes they are all the same model. Unfortunately I have no experience with German resellers so I can't help you on that.
2.) Unless you need VT-d support, I would save money and stick with the 2630QM.
3.) The difference between the 2820 and 2720 is minimal and does not justify the upgrade price.
4.) Pick the 2630QM and use the saved money towards a SSD.

Thank you. What about taking 2630QM and GTX 580M. Does it worth it or 6990 is fine? By the way, what is VT-d?

The performance difference between the 6990M and 580M is minimal, so stick with the 6990M (unless you feel like spending an additional 300 euros for the 580M). VT-d is Intel's virtualization technology, you won't need it unless you plan on running many VMs on your laptop.

    @ Oxraid:
From the 3 resellers which you have mentioned mysn certainly has the best reputation here in Germany. Another one that sells the same hardware and who has a very good reputation is evolutionx . I am going to buy my future notebook at either mysn or evolutionx :)

Thank you for the advice! Anyway, evolutionx seems to be like 200 Euros more expensive than MySN, so I'll go with MySN.

The 6990 is within a few percentage points of the 580m performance wise, so unless you need CUDA, PhysX, or 3D Vision, you'll be happy with the 6990 :)

VT-d is directed IO. This is a useful feature if you're running multiple VM's and need your hardware virtualized into the VM. It's not particularly useful if you don't run lots of VM's and need your physical hardware supported.

I would- you get the best compromise in power that way. You can have a decent quad core processor and one of the fastest mobile GPU's out there. Definitely can't go wrong with that :)

Tomorrow I'm going to order a laptop, so I'm veeeery nervous. My last built is 17' clevo laptop with i7 2630QM, 6990, 8gb ram 1333 and 320gb 7200 hd.
Last time! I need it for gaming. I don't care about boot speed or anything like that. I can either take 2760 instead of 2630 or SSD 2,5" 128GB Crucial CT128M4SSD2 SATA3 instead of 320gb hd. What to choose? Or maybe stay with original build? Will SSD have any effect on games' performance?
A lot of thanks to you, guys! Without you I would never make a decision!

It will not affect your performance in games but it will reduce load times in game, and yes it's very noticable :)

Stick with the 2630 processor, and upgrade your hard drive size instead.

If you're going to be using an SSD as your boot drive, you'll probably want to increase the size of your HDD to 500GB or even 750GB. For example, I'm using a 128GB SSD as my boot drive, with a 750GB HDD for storage (not to mention the 1TB external :D)

An SSD would be the best upgrade there. I still vote the screen upgrade first, but the SSD over the processor, for sure. As said, the SSD will improve loading times in games. I wouldn't worry about storage space, there's always externals for that.

And the 2760 is only 400mhz better? So no visible difference?
    Btw, what screen is better?
1)43,9 cm (17.3") FHD (1920x1080) non Glare Panel LED
    Format 16:9
2)Full HD glare with LED - backlight

There'll be some difference, but that difference won't really be noticeable during everyday tasks. The performance jump from the 2630 to the 2760 isn't enough to warrant the price, in my opinion. You're much better off spending that money on the SSD; I guarantee you'll notice the performance difference :)

The processor difference isn't significant, but the higher turbo and AES/Vt-d features are useful for some. You may benefit if you run virtual machines or lots of highly threaded apps (or even only dual threaded apps- due to the higher clocks on two cores than the 2630).

For the screen, it's up to you whether you prefer glossy screens or matte screens. These threads have good comparisons:
