So I purchased the Steel Series laptop keyboard and tried to install but it didn't function. I tried then to reinstall the old keyboard and it doesn't work as well. I used the video from Puget System as a guide and I can't see what I'm doing wrong.

    Help me please.

Does it recognize keystrokes at all or is it the backlighting just not working. Also double check the connections to make sure they are tight and all the way in.

No backlight and no key function.

Also, the bios screen shows keyboard = 0.

    I'm bumming hard.

The fact that the old keyboard doesn't function is totally baffled me.

Something else, when I use an external keyboard, Device Manager shows 2 HID keyboard devices and 1 PS/2 keyboard.

When I unplug the external keyboard it shows 1 HID keyboard device and 1 PS/2 keyboard.

If it was working before and wont anymore then either you're not connecting it all the way or the got damaged some how when you were attempting the swap. Hopefully there wasnt some type of static electricity that damaged it.

I sent photos to tech support and apparently I had connected the cables wrong. Thanks for the help, all is well.
