Is there a big difference between the

Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card

    Intel® 6230 Advanced-N 802.11A/B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card

    Intel® 6300 Ultimate-N 802.11A/B/G/N LAN Card

Currently my shipping is set to come with the basic one the
Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card

    Is it worth upgrading this?

Yes, it is absolutely worth upgrading to the Intel wi-fi card. The difference between the Intel 6230 and the Intel 6300 is that the Intel 6300 does NOT have Bluetooth capability built-in. The reason for this is that it has a third wi-fi antenna to further increase its range (trust me--the range on the 6300 is absolutely unreal).

Ok I contacted Malibal and they changed my order to the Intel 6230 - I went with that one because I do want the Bluetooth option.

    Thanks.

Yes there is a difference. Here are the specifics:

    Stock: 1x1 antennas (send/receive), 150Mbps, Bluetooth included
    6230: 2x2 antennas, 300Mbps, Bluetooth included
    6300: 3x3 antennas, 450Mbps, No Bluetooth

If you have a router that supports the higher speeds, the better cards will make a pretty big difference. However, it doesn't matter how fast the cards are if you want to use them to say, upload files to the internet. This would be limited by your internet connection speed, not your local connection.

The more antennas also improve your signal quality at higher ranges.

I have the 6230 W BT and am super happy with it. It does only have 2 antena connectors. I only use the 5GHZ setting as a backup. It has shorter range, but better D/L speeds. Still nothing like being hardwired to the router though.

I heard people say that the intel cards have better driver support too or something. I decided to upgrade too.
