This new firmware solves the key skipping issue (Some keypresses not registering when typing vaguely fast)

Ah it really solves the missed key strokes issue? Great! I think a few members on the forum will be happy to see this...Callidor in particular comes to mind. His M57RU review is what convinced me to get mine. =D

It was callidor who originally bugged sager(clevo?) into fixing the issue for the 5793 (same fix as 5796?) in the first place, he posted it in the 5793 fw update thread a few days ago.

To install, burn the iso to a disc (make sure to burn it as a disc image, not just burn the file onto a disc) and boot from it. If you browse the disc in windows you won't see any files, this is normal as all the necessary stuff is in the bootsector.

Would this BIOS work in an older M570RU laptop?

It's great that they listened and fixed the keyboard key skip problem. I have to take a course in keyboarding this semester and the skip problem was a real pain.

Didn't change the firmware, which is still at .03 :)

Hi all. I have a Clevo M570RU with 9800M GT buyed from austrian company Chiligreen. My machine has current BIOS 1.0.0.9 and KBC / EC Firmware 1.0.0.8.
I've seen on this forum that there is a KBC / EC Firmware that let's you control the fan. This is my problem... the fans are too loud.

Can i install this new KBC/EC Firmware and use it together with 1.0.0.9 BIOS? Or do i need to update BIOS too?

Ah.. that's why. I keep thinking my thumb accidentally swipes the touch pad and throws me off from my typing.

I have never played with the bios before. Can someone kindly provide some step by step instructions on how to execute this? Bios backup neccesary (whatever that means)? Settings? Can I still keep all my programs/games/mp3's?

I do however...know how to create the boot cd. =)

Did this firmware work? Are the keyboard normal now? That would be fantastic!

Do I need to install this separately or is it included in the later .11 bios? If I need to install both, does the procedure differ in any way?

It is not included in the .11 bios, but the procedure is basically the same, boot into dos with a usb flash drive, then type "updateEC" and all should be good
