    Sadly, the 3600M is not on the roadmap at this time for the Sager NP9262.

    the 8800M GTX performs better than the 3600M.

    But it depends on what kind of 3D work you are doing.

    I have been using my 7800GTX (~ Quadro 1500M) for a while now doing 3ds and Maya. No issues. :)

    It really is a shame that Solidworks requires a Quadro GPU. From everything we've seen, there's nothing inherently special about the Quadro hardware...there's nothing it can do that the GeForce series shouldn't be able to do, but nVIDIA builds hardware IDs into the Graphics hardware, and these ID chips actually disable certain features on certain cards.

    I know there was a SoftQuadro program available for the GeForce 7 series which pretty much allowed a GeForce 7 to do everything a Quadro could do, but nobody has made a version of SoftQuadro that's compatible with the GeForce 8 series yet.

    It's always possible that the Quadro FX 3600M will magically end up on the road map (after all, the 1600M wasn't planned for a long time), but I'malso holding out hope somebody will start working on updating SoftQuadro, too.

    so if we can flash the gpu to Quadro, what is the point of paying $1000 for FX 3600m when you can have a p-6860fx for $1249?

    The two most famous programs for faking Geforce cards to make them Quadros are:
    - SoftQuadro (has not been updated for about 4 years)
    - NVStrap (a part of RivaTuner that may still work, but has not been successful for G92 cards)

    And what should I test to see if it works? I mean, where would I see the benefit, in terms of apps?
    Cause I ain`t buying Maya or Solid Works :D

    You know its successful if you can run a program that detects your cards as a Quadro.

    I used SoftQuadro a long time ago for the Geforce TI 4200... to make it a Quadro 780XGL. I used if for the old Solidworks at the time with no issues.

    I used Autocad 2007 even on my HP nx9420, with a X1600 , and though the 7950GTX does renderings faster,it`s not magic as some would expect. Will I see improvements in that chapter?

    Would a Clevo/Sager reseller answer this question....

    You probably can not say yes or no but please at least give me a percent answer whether or not the new 17 inch Sager NP5796 will be out by august 28 (the day I go to college) If so I will wait to buy it....but if not ill just buy the 17 inch that is out now.

    I beg of u resellers, please tell me, I am on my knees, praying, hoping, waiting wishing....Please

    I leave August 23rd...I'll need to order one then by the beginning of August I'm guessing. Its going to suck if I miss the refresh by a few days :( I hope they release some sort of release date soon so I know what I'm going to have to do.

    I will mainly be using maya for architectural models, very very intense/atmospheric/complex


    wait... really? so your saying there IS a way to flash a geforce 8800 gtx(actually 8800gts...right?) into a same-quality(3600m)/workstation quadro card? that would be awesome


    Has anyoine done this with a 8800 series?

    and when is the 9800 scheduled for the 9262, before august?

    like I said, these software hacks for Geforce cards to become Quadros have not been successful for a while now.... since the Geforce 6x00 series if I remeber correctly.

    There is nothing on the roadmap yet to upgrade the video card on the NP9262 to the 9800M...so no reasonable ETA can be inferred.
