Well I originally wanted to go with the NP8660. Since then it went on backorder so I thought I would go to best buy to double check the size of the 17". It actually wasnt as big as I remember so I changed my order to the 5797. I went with the basic 2.4 ghz processor as that is all I can afford at the moment. I am hoping it doesnt hinder the performance when gaming to much. If it does I can always wait for the xtreme or better processors to go on sale later on. How hard is it to upgrade the hd myself? I got it w/ the 250gb but I would like to get a 500gb or bigger later on.

its all even laid out in the User Manuals ... go check out the PDFs if you want to know ahead of time. -
Is tiger and newegg still viable options to buy mobile cpu's? I dont see a lot of the newer ones being offered there.
-
I haven't found the new Montevina CPUs for sale anywhere on the retail market. I'm certain that you can get them from RJTech though.
-
had a long convo with rjtech yesterday..they said they will be carring the new clevos and the gtx280m's for sale. they are sure if they are going to make the older style for us d901c people. he said they had to wait and see when they actually come out....

Ok cool, it will be a couple months maybe more before I can upgrade the CPU but it is nice to have that option in a laptop. I am fairly new to looking in to laptops. What kind of hard drive does this one take? I would like to possibly purchase one that is quite a bit larger if I can.

Any 2.5" SATA 5400-7200 RPM HDD, or a solid state drive. I intend to get the new 500GB 7200RPM drive, eventually.

Awesome, thanks for the help. You guys are awesome.
-
is the Hardrive and CD drive the easiest thing to swap?
-
Do the 5797's only take one hard drive?
-
-
sweet, any suggestions on the cheapest blue-ray drive I can put into the Sager NP9757?
-
-
do you know if there is a "specific" typse of blue-ray drive than can be inputted into the NP9757?
-
I believe any "slim internal" drives would work, but I am not 100% sure about this
-
I seen some blu-ray on rjtech, not sure if they are compatible or not
-
these notebooks use standard SATA slim optical drives.
you can get them at almost any computer online e-tailer... like Newegg. -
I kind of want to get a faster dvd drive and forget the blueray. It's nice to have, but the drive is just so sloooow.
-
holy sht, slim blue-ray drive all cost like $280-$600
average is like $350 -
yea, slight problem...most of the new laptops are sata and that's ide...i could be wrong though.
-
looks like that's the cheapest there is...
-
it is.....
-
-
that explains why it seemed so slow lol where is a good place to look to buy the blu ray drives?
