Here we have BIOS/BKC 1.00.03 for the M980NU (Sager NP9850)
Here we have BIOS/KBC 1.00.02 for the D900F (Sager NP9280)
As always these flashes must be made in REAL DOS, so make a bootable USB stick, boot into DOS, then run step1.bat to update the KBC/EC firmware, then reboot again into DOS and run step2.bat to update BIOS.
Your notebook may beep alot during flashing, this is normal.
Edit:
Here also is an updated vbios for the M980NU GTX280M version 62.92.91.00.02, for this boot into DOS and run update.bat.
I take no responsibility for anyone who bricks their computer by not knowing what they are doing.

where you that info there new bios?
-
They're straight from clevo.
-
Here are the release notes for each:
-
that strange. I went to clevo.com, select E-service, then click on download. Put in model M980NU and Driver all. Click on Go and doesn't show any bios.
Where did you go in clevo to get it? -
The only hack is ,U cannot update with vista or seven x64.
-
damn i'm running under vista 64 bit
-
electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
I updated my D900F. I just use a bootable USB flash drive.
-
the D900F has a newer BIOS... I am testing it now.
Clevo does not have this version since it was created by Sager.
Version 1.00.03i
- added XP 32-bit support (fixed ACPI issues when installing it)
- added Virtualization and Hyperthreading toggling options to the BIOS
I recommend this BIOS since it gives those new options and is has no stability issues.
Although when installing XP 32-bit, the mouse does not work (just the keyboard does.. which is the most important.)... but did not matter since the mouse works again after installation was done and system went into Windows.
-
No OC'ing...
-
use a bootable usb stick, as I said in the original post. -
.... until there is a die shrink that will give you more head room (in the temperature department) for OC'ing.
So stick with the non-Extreme Core i7's for this notebook since it will be a waste of money since you cannot really OC them.... unless if you just want bragging rights. -
electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
Or the fastest base speed (which is why I went with the 975) since knowing Clevo's track record for many of their laptops = poor to no OC'ing. In this situation, I would never purchase an extreme assuming the ability to OC, just the fastest speed out there (Plus the price I got on the 975 was closer to a retail 950 pricing
).
As for the BIOS from Sager directly, I'll update when it actually becomes available, but I finally find myself moving away from XP more often than not. A day I never thought I'd see. -
I still deal with many XP systems (even some Win2000 systems) around me, so I do not think I will be moving away from it any time soon.
-
Still no OC options for M98, does Clevo really decide to lock that for ever?
-
I think the problem could also be the use of the old Pheonix BIOS.
I think Clevo could have moved forward to use at least American Megatrends (AMI) ... since many desktop boards use that and works great for BIOS OCing. -
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
kaltmond what's in the physical presence operations?
-
Didn't check that. If you flash the 03 BIOS the option will not show up, but via software analyse it is there, it has nothing to do with OC. The OC options are in the Advanced menu, above the "Installed O/S", also hidden in the official BIOS.....
-
How do you create a bootable usb flash drive ???

Has Sager released the new bios, or is it beta still?
I couldn't seem to find it under downloads. -
Sager will seldom have BIOS downloads available on their site for downloading. -
Excellent, thank you. -
are the new bios update for the d900f so much important that I would have to upgrade my d900f to it ???
or should i just wait as my setup is working fine ???
-
if you want to install XP... then its needed.
-
I could see this new bios being extremely useful for Windows 7 XP mode. In fact, it may require it, not sure. Could someone post it here? I'm not to sure of the protocol about doing so, if it's a problem then please disregard.
Now.. if I only had the guts to flash to the recent 280M bios. -
electrosoft Perpetualist Matrixist
True, if it is available, someone post it for DL.
-
contact Sager support.... and they will email you the update.
-
Now I wait -
Fair warning....
DO NOT post that Sager BIOS on this forum... since Sager has not given permission to do so.
... which would mean that I have to delete your post.
So just email them if you want it. -
I have updated my d900F.No trouble at all.
the only change I have noticed is this displayed intel logo each time u reboot that wastes one or 2 secs !! -
Any one have an idea what the average turn around time for tech support to email someone is?
Maybe I should pickup the phone. -
the phone could be faster.
also, if you ordered your notebook through a reseller (like Powernotebooks, XoticPC or PCTorque)... contact them to get faster responses and service. -
Thank you as always !
-
why are bios not allowed to be posted on here?? that is one thing that always bothered me about sager.. why so protective of their bios'
they prob also changed the slic table info for windows 7 activation with this one to slic 2.1. -
so still no over clocking huh...tisk tisk tisk...not sure what they we're thinking with that...
-
Looking at the changes to the bios I don't see the advantage to up grading it.
-
it is supposed to improve on raid.this point can plead for an update
-
With the original bios it only happened after closing it the second time but with the last bios it all the time. -
I have no idea if the d900c will get any fix for this, what bios version are you running now?
-
-
I just hung up the phone with tech support and it looks like the .03i is still in beta.
Man, one ring and they guy picked up the phone. Can't beat that.
EDIT: It is not a beta, it's the real deal and 100% stable w/advanced chipset options.
Again, really helpful group of guys at Sager. -
can someone please pm me the actual url to the sager website for the D900F bios ???
-

oooo overclocking bios for the m980 do i hear?

not the current one, the one byte refers too -
I should be getting my new D900F from R&J sometime later this week and I wanted to ask a question about BIOS support in general. Can end users download BIOS files directly from the Clevo website?
Since I didn't purchase my D900F from Sager, I wouldn't think it right for me to contact them for their updated D900F BIOS, even though I do want to install XP on my D900F, in a dual boot Linux/XP config. If Clevo rolls these fixes into their BIOS updates for this model, I could simply update it from them, provided I can get the BIOS files from Clevo directly.
BTW, I did find the part of the Clevo website where they have the D900F Vista driver files available for download, I just didn't see any BIOS files listed. If this is simply a case of "When they have BIOS update files available, you'll see them in the download section", then never mind..
Thanks -
U can go there for the bios
http://www.clevo.fr/index1.html
on the top of the page, click on support then on bios
