Has less vRAM (3GB Vs 2GB), a weaker GPU (970M Vs. 965M) and a smaller AC Adapter (180W Vs 150W) than the current P640RE model...doesn't sound like an upgrade more like a cheaper version...

If that would only be TB3 and rock the right firmware the yes!
But looks like that's just a USB 3.1...
Also still no dGPU mode like the larger P6 models...
I don't remember, do the P64 have at least a direct output to external screens that is not routed through the iGPU?

Yes the refreshed 965M with the smaller chip allows it to clock well.

It's quite a feat considering it's made on the same process, also it's GM206.

Correct, dGPU output via one of the mDP ports - the second mDP and the HDMI outputs are through iGPU.

Unfortunately no TB3 and no 4GB vRAM - we asked for this last year but unfortunately it wasn't to be......

P.S. maybe a mod can change the thread name as it's discussing the P641-RF rather than the P65x-RF models?

It's nice that Clevo mentioned that in the spec sheet up front. Not always the easiest information to find on a lot of models and brands.

We've had it online on pre-order for a couple of weeks already ;-) ETA 28th April, it's in the same product page as the XMG P406 - just a GPU option to downgrade/upgrade to the 965M of £80 or €100 rather than a new separate laptop model.

P.S. I'm aware that the tech spec section hasn't been updated yet to reflect the new GPU and ports on this model, expect to see this closer to the ETA.

Will the P406 with 965M be available with the i7-6820HK CPU? I really hope so, but it doesn't look like that on the product page.

For the moment the P406 and 965M refresh GPU will only be available with the 6700HQ, sorry.

Nooooo... I've been waiting on the 965M refresh since I don't really need the dGPU...

Is there a difference in battery runtime between the 965M and 970M versions of P406 when the dGPU is turned off in Optimus?

From the spec sheet, the new one has battery time of 350min, > 1h comparing to 290min of the old one.

Whoa! That's a 20+ % increase, which I find hard to ignore. OTOH, the spec sheet suggest that the P64xRF is (or will be) available with the 6820HK. So, I guess I'll just have to wait...

should I go with this laptop or wait for "pascal"?
I just need a portable laptop like this, the spec is ok as I only play dota2 on max setting and csgo on minimum setting.
