    Heya.
I'm really close buying p370sm-a with 980m SLI and started to think if new models are coming 2015/Q1?
    P370sm-a and p375sm-a were 2013 right? And p377sm-a 2014/Q1?
Because I bumped into this Techinferno thread by Prema

FUTURE CLEVO MODELS: What do YOU want?

What do you think, are there new models coming and will the changes be mostly cosmetic or would there be a reason to wait a bit before buying? Because I don't want to beat myself later for not waiting a couple of months..
Although sometimes even cosmetic changes are a reason for a beatdown :)

Usually new models come with cpu changes (and so motherboard changes). I'd expect a tweaked list of features as usual.

Ok.. so maybe Skylake is the next "big one"? I plan to use the laptop for the next 4 to 5 years so if an upgrade would be just around the corner.. but Skylake isn't just around the corner. No point waiting around :)
Now to just decide whether to pay extra 200e to get 120Hz screen.. xnotebooks seem to be the only one selling them in europe.

difficult to say if clevo is gonna present new models for broadwell aside from the zm series, id say skylake is definitely in for a larger series of model upgrades though since that would most probably also conincide with nextgen gpus from nvidia/amd

Skylake and next gen gpu. Drool :) It's never a good time to upgrade your system. But with the leap Maxwell made I honestly think dual 980m setup will run games smoothly for a long time. I got desktop 570 SLI at the moment and they have served me well :)

We will see, it could be minor or major revisions. Better features at least usually though at least :)

I wouldn´t worry too much about upgrades.

In the CPU department, starting with Haswell, the upgrade cycle will become longer and longer. I would recommend a 4-5 year upgrade cycle.
For GPUs things are different. But if you are into GPUs, you might as well get a laptop with MXM cards so you can upgrade down the road.

The only thing that could be a game changer are the displays. We shall see.

All in all, only wait if you are less than 3 months away from the next generation of CPUs, otherwise go for it.
